During the financial year, our work as a community interest company that collaborates with Black and minoritised women has yielded notable benefits for the community in the following ways: - In the last 12 months, we have worked with 48 women to explore whether a digital solution can enhance the leadership journey of professional BME women. - Our research indicates significant scope for further development using immersive technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), potentially transforming how leadership training is delivered and accessed. - By focusing on digital pathways, we have broadened opportunities for leadership development, enabling participants to hone their skills and confidently progress in their careers. - We have nurtured a supportive peer and mentoring network, which provides guidance, inspiration and encouragement, thus strengthening connections within the wider community. - Through these initiatives, we have fostered a more inclusive environment across various sectors, ensuring that diverse voices and perspectives are recognised and valued.
Our stakeholders are primarily the Black and minoritised women we support, alongside the wider network of partners, mentors, educators and employers who share our commitment to fostering inclusive leadership. Our directors have strong connections within these communities, drawing on their personal experiences to shape our programmes. When new participants join our initiative, we ask them to complete a brief questionnaire outlining their professional background, aspirations and any obstacles they face. This insight enables us to tailor our support more precisely. We also gathers informal feedback through conversations during workshops and events, ensuring we remain responsive to emerging needs. Participants are invited to submit suggestions for improvements or new services. We have established a steering group comprising women from the community who bring invaluable perspectives to our planning and decision-making. This group meets regularly to discuss progress, raise concerns and propose fresh ideas, ensuring that our programmes remain closely aligned with the communities we serve. By involving participants and community members at every stage, we reinforce our core mission: to create meaningful, long-term impact for Black and minoritised women in leadership.
