Grown flax for fibre using environmentally friendly methods. Every year we have a volunteering event during harvest time. This year we are organizing other events and workshops at the field. We have hand processed the flax straw to extract the fibre. Worked on developing machinery for the processing of flax to extract the fibre. We have delivered a programme of arts and crafts workshops associated with flax, textiles and textile printing for the local community suitable for all ages and abilities. We have become part of a small national network of bast fibre growers. The southwest U.K. will benefit from gaining training opportunities in agriculture, textiles production and other employable skills. The company will provide employment opportunities for trainees and others as the organisation becomes profitable. This year we have grown our community of flax and fi-bre enthusiasts and built strong links between the city and the countryside. The company has provide education in heritage arts and crafts. The growing local craft and textiles community have learned new skills and have benefitted from the associated mental health benefits of access to creative activities.
The company’s stakeholders are: local people interested in heritage and textile crafts who attend workshops and events and the Flax Project workshop in Plymouth People interested in growing textiles and attend volunteering events at the field in Cornwall. Local people interested in small circular economies and environmental friendly textile production. We regularly take data and comments from attendees of workshops and volunteering sessions. The amount paid to directors in respect of qualifying services was £1,831. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed
