Company activities and impact

The company provides coaching and training services to support unpaid carers in the work-place and their employers including: -Providing awareness raising sessions for managers and leaders within organisations so they can identify who unpaid carers are and also signpost them to the appropriate support services that could help them to stay in employment -Providing one to one coaching for unpaid working carers – up to 6 sessions - so that they can re-evaluate their needs and regain perspective when looking after a loved one so that they can continue to do so and maintain a healthy relationship -Delivering high quality training packages related to topics that working carers struggle with the most, including setting boundaries, using their time and getting a balance in their work home and caring life, building resilience, caring for themselves and establishing what they really want when they have very busy work and home lives.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are currently Carers Wakefield and District charity for carers, Wakefield District Council, Wakefield College (part of the Heart of Yorkshire Education group) and Turning Point ( a social enterprise, designing and delivering health and social care services in the fields of substance use). The Director’s of the company have a long standing relationship with Carers Wakefield and District and are working with them to deliver quality packages for working carers such as one to one coaching for working carers. Wakefield District Council has a Health Improvement Specialist and Carers’ Champion who holds monthly meetings with Stakeholders affiliated to caring roles e.g. Dementia UK, Live Well Wakefield to establish what working carers want and also runs an internal carers group for the council. The Directors of the company have worked closely with the Health Improvement Specialist and Wakefield District Council Training Team to provide bespoke training for the unpaid carers working for the Council. Feedback obtained through evaluation has been positive and any changes needed have been acted upon. Through Wakefield College, the Directors have had the opportunity to build relationships with their Human Resources department and working with them to plan future initiatives that will benefit their unpaid carers working within their organisation e.g. creating a working carers passport. Through the monthly stakeholder meetings run by the Health Improvement Specialist and Carers’ champion a relationship has been fostered with Turning Point. A referral system has been set up with Turning Point for suitable clients to be referred for one to one coaching. The Directors provide one to one coaching related to setting boundaries, for clients who have relative with substance use issues. Again feedback is obtained through evaluation as to the effectiveness of the coaching.

The aggregate amount of emoluments paid to or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was: Christine Edge: £1,952.88 Nicola Roberts: £2,145.64
