Company activities and impact

Company activities and impact The company has provided a number of both on farm and in the community training and education sessions and experiences in nutritious seasonal food and agroecology / regenerative farming practices. These sessions have supported a better understanding of the importance of local, ecological food systems within the community and have helped establish links between community members and groups and community growing projects with a wide range of health and wellbeing benefits as well as improvements to local biodiversity. In addition to the provision of educational and training opportunities in agroecology, permaculture and agroforestry, the company has continued to develop a wide range of agroforestry systems at Higher Barn Farm: a range of both Silvopastural and Silvoarable systems as well as new orchards, new woodlands and new hedgerows. The produce of the farm is sold direct to consumers in the local community providing a source of local, nutritious food, improving food security and reducing food miles.
