Company activities and impact

Military Style Education & Development CIC (M.S.E) have continued to provide sports/recreation/events and holiday activity clubs for primary school children throughout the Borough of Wirral, and now expanded into the Borough of Halton and Cheshire West. M.S.E. have delivered programs throughout this year obtaining funding from the Department for Education in conjunction with Edsential CIC to provide holiday activity clubs to support vulnerable and Children Looked After as well as children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The clubs include breakfast, lunch and healthy nutritional snacks throughout the duration of the school holidays. We have worked predominantly in Wirral: Heygarth Primary, Co-op Academy Portland, The Priory Catholic C of E school, Pensby Community Centre, and also Weatherhead High School. I believe M.S.E. have benefited the community, families, children and young people in providing them with role models to support and address the emotional and physical health and wellbeing of children and young people. We support families by providing our activities similar to School opening hours which provide an outlet for families to have access to a structured program of health, wellbeing and nutritional education. Our provision is quite unique in that our mentors are all ex- military personnel and we are well known across the education settings throughout Wirral and we have now expanded into Cheshire West, Runcorn, Halton & Widnes and St Helens . As part of our delivery we provide one to one mentoring support for those children who cannot cope within their primary learning environment.
