Annual Report 2023-2024 This year has been one of growth, impact, and innovation for Lads Need Dads. We have expanded our programmes, strengthened our community connections, and continued to support boys and their families through unique, tailored interventions. Conclusion As we reflect on another year of growth, impact, and transformation, we are proud of the strides we have made in empowering boys, supporting families, and building stronger communities. Our work would not be possible without the dedication of our staff, mentors, volunteers, and the unwavering support of our funders and partners. Together, we have continued to tackle the challenges faced by boys growing up without fathers, offering them the tools, skills, and confidence to thrive. Looking ahead to 2025, our hope is to inspire others, particularly schools, to adopt and deliver interventions like Lad Pods themselves, equipping them with the tools to engage boys at an early stage and provide essential emotional and developmental support. By empowering others to take action, we aim to broaden our impact and ensure that more boys have the opportunity to grow into confident, resilient young men.
Lads Need Dads Stakeholders The stakeholders of Lads Need Dads include the boys and young men who participate in the programmes, their mothers and carers, mentors, schools, local authorities, community partners, funders, and volunteers. Consultation with stakeholders is central to ensuring the programmes meet the needs of the communities we serve. Regular feedback is gathered through surveys, focus groups, and one-to-one discussions with participants and their families, as well as through meetings with schools and community partners. For example, it became clear that schools needed additional training for staff on supporting fatherless boys, which resulted in the continued expansion and rollout of Absent Father Awareness Training. Feedback from mentors has also shaped the ongoing development of the Reading Mentor Programme, ensuring it remains impactful and relevant. By listening to stakeholders and acting on their input, Lads Need Dads continues to evolve and provide meaningful support that addresses the real needs of its service users and partners.
