Compliance with accounting standards

Accounting policies
The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have remained unchanged from the previous year, and also have been consistently applied within the same accounts.
Basis of preparation
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets.
Presentation currency
The accounts are presented in £ sterling.
Turnover
Turnover comprises revenue recognised by the company in respect of goods and services supplied, exclusive of Value Added Tax and trade discounts. Revenue is recognised on completion of the legal contract of sale of the property concerned.
Stock
Stock is held at the lower of cost and net realisable value after making due allowance for obsolete and slow moving stock. Cost includes all direct costs and an appropriate proportion of fixed and variable overheads.

The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of County Gate Properties Limited which is a subsidiary of the ultimate parent company County Gate Properties Holdings Limited, registered office and principal place of business: The Studios, 6 Tinchurch Drive, Burgess Hill, west Sussex, RH15 0XJ. Consolidated accounts are not prepared. M Deme and A Vint are the ultimate controlling parties of County Gate Properties (Handcross) Limited.
