Company policy on the employment of disabled persons

Purpose This policy outlines Companies House’s commitment to promoting an inclusive workplace that supports and values disabled employees. It ensures compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and aligns with our broader mission to foster diversity and inclusivity. Scope This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and job applicants of Companies House. Policy Statement Companies House is committed to: Creating an environment where disabled employees feel valued and supported. Removing barriers that prevent disabled individuals from fully participating in the workplace. Ensuring fair treatment throughout the employment cycle, from recruitment to retirement. Definition of Disability Under the Equality Act 2010, a disability is a physical or mental impairment that has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on an individual's ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities. Examples include, but are not limited to: Mobility impairments. Sensory impairments (e.g., vision or hearing). Learning disabilities. Chronic illnesses or mental health conditions. Responsibilities Employers Promote a culture of inclusivity and respect. Ensure reasonable adjustments are made to accommodate disabled employees.
