We regularly consult informally with our community cast and our bookers Our professional facilitators work alongside the community cast their views are sought at every session on all aspects of our work and performances. Quotes from the community cast below: “I feel so lucky to have this group of wonderful women in my life. I felt very nervous at the beginning. I questioned myself as to whether this Belles thingy was for me. I didn't realise it's what I've been needing in my life.” “The project has really given me an injection of confidence and boosted my self-esteem. As an older person I increasingly find myself thinking about what I maybe shouldn't do or be seen to be doing. The Belles approach is so clearly focused on breaking through that and simply enabling the group to have fun, without criticism, and even better to get out and about and show people of all ages that it's a joy to be playful.” Quotes re audiences below: “The feedback from the public on our last performance in Shipley was overwhelmingly brilliant. People smiled, were happy and loved us. It's a great feeling knowing you've brought laughter and happiness to people.” “It brightens my day. Your costumes are great. It’s entertainment for all ages. It makes everyone happy. It’s always a positive experience. When are you performing next?” We get repeat annual bookings for World Heritage Day, Shipley Street Arts Festival, Saltaire Festival and Listers Lanterns.
Directors are paid for running sessions and leading performances as well as organisational development and accounting for the company, as per the financial accounts.
