MANHOOD PENINSULA COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Directors' report period ended 31 October 2024

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 October 2024

Principal activities of the company

The Selsey Music Group has been less active this year but The Friends of East Beach staged their annual Christmas event which was more popular than last year. In anticipation that it might be, they applied for and received a higher grant from Selsey Town Council which we looked after and ensured was spent on purposes in keeping with the conditions upon which it was given. We do not charge the small charitable groups we support for our services. Our income this year was therefore solely derived from printing materials and placing digital advertisements on a commercial basis to support our work.

COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

MANHOOD PENINSULA COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Company Number: 12245190 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2024

Company activities and impact

Our primary focus remains advising and supporting small, unincorporated charitable groups - something we try to do at no cost to them. We continued to act as a banker for Flood Action Group Selsey, Selsey Music Group and the Friends of East Beach, Selsey. Furthermore, we also provide governance and charitable support (free) to Switch off the Lights and Selsey Community Events. This meant we continued to hold funds for them and, as the respective groups requested, discharged to pay their suppliers. We also were able on a commercial basis to print literature for a small geographical Registered Political Party of Independents based in Selsey, the Local Alliance. This generated a small profit we were able to use to help reduce our operating losses. We also received a one-off £500 donation to help reduce them too.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders are the respective communities within our area of benefit, the Manhood Peninsula in the county of West Sussex. We were ready to help them during the pandemic, but they managed to form their own unincorporated voluntary groups until such time as statutory bodies were able to assist. As previously mentioned, other small groups followed the example of Flood Action Group Selsey, who became concerned about a larger charity holding their funds for them so we offered to be their ‘banker’ at no charge.

Directors' remuneration

No remuneration was received
