Explain how the company’s activities have benefited the community in the financial year: Over the past year, Feed Our Communities has focused on bringing forward research, consultancy, and education to address social and economic issues and engage with communities. We explored various solutions beyond traditional service provision, such as food banks. Our aim is to offer long-term solutions to social issues. Key highlights include: Health-Related Research: We have a confidential project awaiting funding to support individuals with circulatory illnesses. Permaculture Designs: We are bringing permaculture design principles to communities, offering sustainable solutions. Network Expansion: New networks were built, reaching learners and stakeholders. New Farming System: Actively involved in a new design phase to alleviate poverty through innovative farming systems. Insect Farming Community: Joined an insect farming community to introduce alternative protein sources.
Consultation with stakeholders: Yes, there has been consultation with various stakeholders, including: Permaculture Association: Engaged with experts to integrate permaculture principles effectively. Local Residents: Conducted community workshops and feedback sessions to involve local residents. UK Environmental Industry Association (UKEIA): Collaborated on environmental projects and sustainability initiatives. UK Research and Innovation (UKRI): Partnered for research initiatives and funding opportunities. Funders: Engaged with relevant funders to identify sources of financial support and align project goals with funding requirements.
