Company activities and impact

Manav Seva Community Centre CIC (MANAV SEVA COMMUNITY CENTRE CIC) provides quality day care services for the communities in Leicester & Leicestershire. Manav Seva Community Centre CIC CIC offers services to the following individuals: Senior citizens Elderly people Adults with physical and learning disabilities Adults suffering from mental health issues Adults experiencing long-term health issues: such as Dementia Adults who are socially isolated Manav Seva Community Centre CIC stakeholders: Day care service users Service users' family members/carers/guardians Local authorities Community organizations Charity organizations Staff Volunteers Individuals Companion Care Agency (CCA) NHS Manav Seva Community Centre CIC regularly holds consultations with service users and involves them in planning activities tailored to their individual needs, future developments, and the strategic direction of the centre. There is representation from families and carers on the Manav Seva Community Centre CIC non-executive board. In addition, Manav Seva Community Centre CIC consults with families and carers on a one-to-one basis, ensuring that the services provided are appropriate and designed to meet the needs, preferences, and wishes of individuals. Manav Seva Community Centre CIC’s activities and impact: Manav Seva Community Centre CIC provides services to local residents on a weekly basis, including those with physical or mental disabilities, vulnerable individuals, and the elderly. We provide wheelchair-accessible transport to local residents to access the community day care centre within the areas of Leicester & Leicestershire. We have delivered approximately 200 activity sessions to local residents, including light exercise, language learning, bodily movement exercises, yoga, meditation, group walks, arts & crafts, and singing. These activities support individuals suffering from diabetes and other illnesses. Approximately 450 local residents have participated in organized events, which have included volunteers, local residents, and Manav Seva Community Centre members, with meals and refreshments provided. Since COVID-19, Manav Seva Community Centre CIC has provided 251 online sessions via Zoom to approximately 175 adults on a weekly basis. This initiative supports individuals who are unable to attend face-to-face sessions at the centre due to health circumstances or the impact of COVID-19. Additionally, we have provided food parcels and low-cost meals to 682 individuals who have been directly impacted by the cost of living crisis. Through the Meals on Wheels service, we have supported elderly, vulnerable adults, and those with disabilities or social isolation. The company has employed 8 full- and part-time local residents and receives support from 6 volunteers, all contributing to the essential services for our local communities. To maintain an environmentally friendly and clean Day Care Centre, we encourage staff and users to reduce energy waste, recycle glass, plastic, cardboard, and cloth, and adopt sustainable practices.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company has received positive feedback from members of the local community and centre users regarding the activities and events that support health and wellbeing. Overall, the outcome of our services has been positive, and most day care centre users and community members are appreciative of the services provided to meet their needs and preferences. Manav Seva Community Centre CIC maintains interactive pages through the internet and social media platforms to engage with the community.
