Company activities and impact

We have continued to support communities to create and make improvements to their outdoor spaces through: Capital improvements in spaces including a story trail installation, community created informative signage, installation green infrastructure. Fundraising and community events for over 1500 people. Leading the development of the community outdoor swimming pool in response to community demand. Management of rare plants sites in Buckfastleigh. Regular sport, nature engagement and creative opportunities included: Working with three schools in the south hams and Plymouth to encourage children to better connect with nature, learn about park flora and native flora and fauna. Coaching biking for two local schools and the public including weekly training. Nature Rangers weekly afterschool club at St Johns Primary School. Weekly coffee, games and conservation group for older residents at a local park. Combined these activities have benefitted the local community by: Bringing people together and enthusing and exciting them to care for their local community spaces and nurture community creativity. Enabling children and families to lead more active and therefore healthier lives Developing habits that involve the positive use of rural park and urban natural spaces Giving people high quality accessible spaces and opportunities to learn about and enjoy natural play.

Consultation with stakeholders

Earthjump CIC works with a number of stakeholders including families and children that attend activities, students and teachers at local schools, volunteers The Species Recovery Trust as well as organisations such as Plymouth City Council and Dartington Recreation Association. We regular undertake a diverse array of community consultation events and listen to our community. Whilst working closely with residents of Dartington to make improvements to Meadowbrook park, through green energy projects and swimming pool refurbishment, we ensured that all plans developed were done so in a collaborative manner, through conversations and community consultation.
