Year Ending: 30 April 2024

Company activities and impact

Our weekly mixed ability boxing sessions continued to run in Leeds and Bradford. Coaches, Volunteers and Participants have a wide range of disabilities and long term health conditions. The ages of our participants range from 5 - 60+. Participants benefit from access to healthy activity in a social setting. Our sessions promote mental and physical health, whilst breaking down barriers between communities and overcoming issues of stigma and isolation.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our main stakeholders are the beneficiaries of our work, including people with disabilities and long term health conditions. All of our programmes are developed in consultation with the participants and we receive regular feedback from the people we work with. As a result of this consultation we structure our activities to times and places that suit participants, as well as ensuring that all of the accessibility needs of people are met. Unorthobox works closely with other organisations within the Mixed Ability sport movement and we have partnership arrangements with International Mixed Ability Sports. We regularly speak with and inform the governing bodies of the sports we cover and use these relationships to influence the delivery of inclusive sport.
