    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Statutory information BABY SPACE NETWORK CIC is a private company, limited by shares, registered in England and Wales, registration number 13353899. The registered office is 214 FRESTON ROAD, LONDON, W10 6TT, ENGLAND. 2 Compliance with accounting standards The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A Small Entities. There were no material departures from that standard. 3 Accounting policies The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have remained unchanged from the previous year, and also have been consistently applied within the same accounts. Basis of preparation The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets. Presentation currency The accounts are presented in £ sterling

Company activities and impact

The Company runs community focused services aimed at supporting local families experiencing financial and/or emotional hardship. The activities include the provision of complementary therapies, wellbeing support groups, information and guidance. The Company runs a Baby Bank and food support services and for the year 2023-2024 offered wellbeing and family support hubs in in West London.The company offers signposting and referral services to statutory agencies including the NHS and the Local Authority. In the reporting financial year, the Company has seen a sharp increase for the demand for their services as a direct result of the cost-of-living crisis. The Company has had to increase its activities which are continuing in the next reporting period During the financial year 2023-2024, the company's activities have benefited the community in the following way :- Local residents (in particular families with children under the age of 5) have received budget alleviation support hence increasing their financial capabilities and resilience. The yearly financial outcomes for family reached £136,900 -Local residents (in particular those with a mental health impairment) have seen an improvement in their overall mental health and wellbeing, an increase in their confidence and ability to manage their own affairs -Families have benefited from the company's community events and training services improving their civic participation in local life and tackling social isolation. 697 local residents participated and benefited-41 local residents benefited from training and volunteering placement increasing their prospect ni moving into gainful employment. 2 local residents moved on to a paid position-142 families accessed GP services to improve their physical health-72 families took part in the company's wellbeing services also contributing to an improvement of their health-2,481 assessments of local residents were carried out to identify support services, also providing practical assistance

Consultation with stakeholders

Please indicate who the company’s stakeholders are: The company’s stakeholders are residents of and visitors Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham and Brent, and local and regional food suppliers. The Stakeholders are also Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service, CNWL, GPs, Midwives in local hospital, Brent Council, Kensington and Chelsea Council, Notting Hill Genesis and Peabody Housing. The directors of the company have lived in West London for a number of years and have links with communities they serve, understanding their needs and from lived experiences of the issues the Company wants to address Please indicate how the stakeholders have been consulted: We run quarterly surveys and focus groups with stakeholders to understand their needs and co-create solutions with them We also run monthly coffee mornings and cost of living support with local communities and understand their needs so our services can be adapted This has helped us to build up a profile of local needs and what we can do to meet them more effectively We have received feedbacks and views from over 610 residents during the reporting period What action, if any, has the company taken in response to feedback from its consultations? If there has been no consultation, this should be made clear. A number of additional services have been added as a result of these consultations. We have high levels of satisfaction with our services and our activities contribute to create more long term sustainability in the local communities we serve
