COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

COMMUNITY ONLINE CIC

Company Number: 13320824 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 April 2024

Company activities and impact

The company’s activities have continued in the IT education of the elderly and those with a BAME background, to avoid social exclusion. IT and other digital classes have continued to be offered to the elderly and vulnerable, in order to enhance their confidence in the digital world. All classes have been delivered free of charge. Significant improvements have been noted in the lives of the elderly in the community we serve.

Consultation with stakeholders

All our stakeholders have been involved in shaping Community Online CIC and are also helping us to define our services for the future, based on meeting local needs and ensuring we are sustainable as the commissioning and funding environment changes. Our Stakeholders consist of participants, local organisations, staff, volunteers, management committee and steering group who all contribute to assessing needs and designing our offer. We provide a range of appropriate opportunities for people to share their views, with due consideration to barriers including language, literacy, confidence and culture, so that all voices are heard. Where we identify gaps in our reach we seek opportunities to listen and learn from those communities so we can shape our service more appropriately. We are aware there are beneficiaries we’ve not yet reached, and most of these are also represented by our stakeholders. They know the vulnerabilities of the people they support and their barriers to participating. We’re discussing with them how to address barriers such as a need to accommodate carers, offering sessions in care homes, matching buddies, free places and some transport, the promise of delivery in their own language or translation, or the need for single-sex sessions.
