The County Durham Cleaning Company supports an ever-growing number of service users in County Durham falling below an acceptable standard of living, offering real-time physical support along with multi-agency partnerships to resolve problems with those unable to get cleaning support elsewhere. This financial year we have solidified working relationships with partnering agencies such as housing authorities, social services and council enforcement. This has come about through their workers recommending our services, and we are keen to ensure the relationships we have built up with local authorities remain stable so we can gain consistent referrals which will directly support our sustainability. We operate in County Durham and surrounding areas and completed several projects with external funding from the Social Enterprise Boost Fund; the wage support and new equipment making life changing differences to a variety of service users. Our network of support covers the terminally ill, victims of abuse, addiction recovery, those suffering mental health issues, depression and loneliness, and individuals with hoarding and hygiene problems. The company takes its social responsibility seriously, and has created employment for a local resident, providing them with a competitive salary and full training in cleaning and in adhering to the social support ethos that we follow. During the financial year the company has also: - Met with and agreed terms of service for over 40 vulnerable residents, including those without the ability to leave the house. These range from hoarding situations to domestic abuse survivors, and our service has enabled them to begin to move forward, along with the continued support of social services. - Assisted 8 households in receiving regular or occasional domestic cleaning support, so they benefit from more accessible cleaning services with a consistent face coming into their home, improving their mental health and overall quality of life.
