ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable activities
FSTC UK has continued a number of charitable and cultural activities that are project specific. Here is a summary of each project

1. Educational Activities
Efforts are still afoot to complete the 5 books on STEM subjects for high schools and universities. The resources for teachers and lecturers are close to completion for Physics, Maths, Engineering, Chemistry and Biology. These resources contain anecdotes from the scientific contributions of early men and women from various cultures in particular from the Muslim world.

Members of the Charity participated in face-to-face and online conferences and lectures in UK and Overseas.
Of notice are:
Prof. Sharif Kaf Al-Ghazal, Prof. Talip Alp, Prof. Salim Al-Hassani, Prof. Savas Konur, Dr Anne-Maria Brennan, Dr Salwa Al-Noori and Prof. Okasha El-Daly,

2. Collaborations
- Collaboration with the Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine (CHSTM) continued, in the form of providing placements for Master students research projects.
- The course by Prof. Peter Pormann, University of Manchester, on the contents of our book 1001 Cures is now dormant. Prof. Sharif K Al-Ghazal (Bradford) is developing a similar course for online provision.
- Prof. Sharif led a series of online international webinars in collaboration between the Federation of Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA) and FSTC UK.
- Prof. Talip Alp continued giving lectures on History of Science and Technology to universities and schools in Turkiye.
- Prof. Salim Al-Hassani continued collaboration with (i) the Warburg Institute (University of London), (ii) Prof. Wijdan Fareeq and Prof. Nabila Dawood of the Centre for the History of Arabic Science (University of Baghdad), (iii), Health Development Holdings, Saudi Arabia, (iv) MEDIPOL university and iGETEV Children Charity (Istanbul), (v) Dr A R Wahono, Madrasah International TechnoNatura (Indonesia), (vii) Generations School in Pakistan, and (viii) Prof. Charles Burnett (Warburg Institute, University of London).
- Dr Anne-Maria Brennan continues to maintain relations with the Organisation of Educational Corporation (OEC), based in Addis Ababa and Geneva. She also continues to represent our organisation at the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee

Numerous collaborators and supporters visited our headquarters in Manchester, e.g Prof. Mahmoud Masri (Istanbul Manuscript Centre), Dr Rania Awaad (MIT USA), Prof. Ahmed Paul Keeler (Cambridge) and Chris Doyle (CAABU, London).

3. Our Portal Muslimheritage.com:
Numerous high-profile authors have published their work on the platform. This is encouraging others to do the same. The website is continuously going through maintenance and has now incorporated the huge dBase MASDAR search. This new d-Base adds several thousands of references on various topics in the field of history of Science, Technology and Civilisation.
The editorial team is led by Prof. Savas Konur (Bradford University). An AI group was organised to consider its application to our content. The group provided content support to a number of social media providers.

4. Books:
Efforts continue to complete the 5 STEM subjects Books. Each will carry the title "1001 inventions: Muslim Heritage in Physics", "...in Mathematics", "...in Engineering.", "...in Chemistry" and " ...in Life sciences".
Work is still ongoing on the book "1001 Women of Science and Management in Muslim Civilisation".
A new book is being prepared entitled "1001 Machines and Devices in Muslim Heritage".

Fundraising activities
No public fund-raising events were organised, but various approaches were made to supporters and sympathisers. A number of volunteers joined giving their support in kind and laying out their own time and not claiming expenses.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF
FOUNDATION FOR SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND
CIVILISATION UK

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Foundation for Science, Technology and Civilisation UK ('the Company')
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Company for the year ended 30 April 2024.

Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity's trustees of the Company (and also its directors for the purposes of company law) you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 ('the 2006 Act').

Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company are not required to be audited under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of your charity's accounts as carried out under Section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 ('the 2011 Act'). In carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145(5) (b) of the 2011 Act.

Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe:

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Company as required by Section 386 of the 2006 Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or
3. the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of Section 396 of the 2006 Act other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination; or
4. the accounts have not been prepared in accordance with the methods and principles of the Statement of Recommended Practice for accounting and reporting by charities (applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)).

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
