Company activities and impact

LUS Coordinator supports seven London Groups of people on benefits, Peer to Peer non expert advice. Many of those who attend the groups have social time, make friendships, get benefit advice, have people help them fill in forms, attend assessment with Job centre and DWP assessment people, witness what’s is happening, make representation at Mandatory Reconsideration hearings , tribunals etc. Some of the Groups will speak to media about the issues and will give lived experience evidence to select committees and many others to try to highlight the injustices being done to those using the Social Security system. Many in the Groups get involved with other organisations also fighting for change to the Social Security system with Co design projects and deep dive research work into issues. I help to coordinate these activities.

Consultation with stakeholders

We work collaboratively with many others including , Trusssell trust, JRF, TUC, Unions, Shadow Government and have ongoing dialogues around the issues.
