Shakespeare's Kids has been actively engaged in serving the youth of Cumbernauld and its surrounding areas for thirteen years, offering child-centred programmes rooted in literature, film and drama. Shakespeare's Kids fosters strong community relationships by providing an inclusive and cost-effective programme to children within the local community. Our primary focus is on nurturing children's confidence and resilience, equipping them with the essential tools required for success in life. All participating children actively work towards qualifications through the Youth Scotland H15 programme and the Kelvin College Community Achievement Programme, further enhancing their personal and educational development.
Shakespeare's Kids stands out in its distinctive approach to engaging with its stakeholders, including board members, committee members and the wider community. We maintain a robust board and committee, with dedicated community members who share a commitment to supporting and shaping the project's activities. Our online Parents' and Supporters' forum now exceeds 600 members, reflecting the growing engagement and support from families and the wider community. Additionally, our Ambassador Programme has replaced the former Children's and Young People's Board, providing young people with leadership opportunities, mentorship roles and a voice in shaping the future of Shakespeare's Kids. Our Ambassadors work closely with our Adult Board and Committee, ensuring that young people remain at the heart of all we do.
