Inspire in the community runs lunches and social gatherings with the emphasis on reducing loneliness and promoting a healthy wellbeing for the elderly and “people of determination” within the community. Inspire has been able to help a number of elderly, lonely, and some isolated to come together to enjoy each others company through fun & food. We make approximately 65 lunches per week as well as extras for special occasions like Easter & Christmas. We use locally sourced food where possible and use food donated from local supermarkets (to reduce waste) that would otherwise go to landfill. We have 10 dedicated volunteers ranging broadly in age, some with additional needs, as well as work placement students from colleges and those who are completing their Duke of Edinburgh award.
No consultation with stakeholders
No remuneration was received
