Company activities and impact

Ethos Heritage CIC is a Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to preserving, research-ing, and promoting the archaeological heritage of Yorkshire. Our mission over the past year has been to protect, share, and appreciate the historical and cultural legacy of our local communities. Our Purpose: Conduct archaeological excavations and research to uncover and preserve historical and archaeological sites. Engage local communities in archaeological activities through outreach programs, public talks, and workshops. Collaborate with educational institutions, local councils, and heritage organizations to promote historical awareness. Our Achievements for the Past Year: Provided opportunities for volunteers and aspiring archaeologists to gain hands-on experience in fieldwork and research at little or no cost. Conducted several digs, leading to significant findings such as a high-status building on the site of the deserted medieval village of High Hunsley, potentially connected with the last revolt of the Pilgrimage of the Graces. Partnered with the Young Archaeologist Club, the Friends of High Hunsley, and other local organ-izations for joint research projects. Providing opportunities for over 180 participants to experience Hand On Archaeology Ran a Community Arts project for children based around our excavations at High Hunsley Community Engagement: Hosted three community workshops and one school program, working with children with special needs. Delivered two free "First Aid at Work" courses to qualify our participants working on-site with us. Conducted lectures and guided tours at heritage sites, reaching over 160 attendees. Brought in experts to provide training in Geo-Physical Survey to identify heritage sites. Ran Green and Sustainable projects using Solar Energy, Composting Toilets, Recycling and re-wilding on site Educational Outreach: Developed educational materials and online resources to enhance public knowledge through our website. Created and posted videos online to support our educational efforts. Worked with local schools Collaborations and Impact: Collaborated with local authorities to protect at-risk heritage sites, such as our current excavation site. Strengthened local identity and pride through increased public awareness of historical sites. Increased local participation in archaeology and heritage-related activities.

Consultation with stakeholders

We have regular meetings (every 3 months) with local groups as well as holding 2 bi-annual presentations on what we are doing. We are members of local History and Archaeological organisations and attend their meetings providing information on our activies
