The Wellderness is improving people's lives though nature and improving nature through people. We run a monthly campfire community from a site in Findon, West Sussex, where people can gather, share stories and connect with each other. These were ticketed events with the aim of getting people to spend more time in nature. Each event had a different theme such as Foraging, Yoga Nedra, Forest bathing and a Wim Hof Fundamentals course all set around a community campfire. We also hosted a Winter and summer solstice events and Beltane Fire and Feast Festival. These events benefited our community through reconnection to nature, learning new skills & experiences and increased social connection. We also held some volunteer events where we planted over 1000 trees in the South Downs National Park. These events were free to attend with an optional donation. We were awarded the Queens Tree for our efforts.
The companies’ stakeholders are members of the local community over 16 years old. A questionnaire is sent out after each of our events gauging feedback to the event and to our mission and purpose. These questionnaires have been helpful in improving our offering to the community. We have added new events in 2023 such as our campfire communities which now run through 11 months of the year and we are now applying for funding for 2024 as a result.
