Little Big Things CIC develops arts and culture projects, promoting creativity, heritage, health and wellbeing for the local community. Providing a bridge between learning and a professional career for many aspiring young people, especially those in a low socio-economic status. Little Big Things CIC aims to be a strong unifier, building cultural activities, connecting people within the locality, the promotion of arts, heritage and culture for young people and the local community in the sharing of skills and knowledge with the development between various layers of the sociocultural community. The main beneficiaries are young people and community, not only those taking part in project activities but also for those who will gain as third-party beneficiaries, such as audience members and incidental beneficiaries from the results of project activities and community engagement. Little Big Things CIC has continued successful delivery in its second year of trading delivering on its aims to support and deliver community art and culture projects that support young people and the sector. Continuing the work with securing several contracts with the University of Bedfordshire amounting to £6540.00 income. Saturday Film Club, Luton: Working in partnership with The Culture Trust, London Film School and Luton Borough Council, Children and Young People with Care Experiences. Delivered by a local filmmaker, sharing experiences of culture and heritage whilst upskilling and teaching techniques and history of filmmaking as a genre. Beneficiaries aged from 11 - 25 years old, with 10 young people in the cohort. STEMX: Fashion Industry-Fashion Futures, Tech and the Future in Fashion, taking inspiration from Luton's Hat heritage/industry. Tools for exploring creativity and devising/making your own work, performing and storytelling of own experiences. Delivered to 2 x local Secondary Schools (Icknield High School and Lealands High School) to Year 8 + Year 9 with a group size of 90 beneficiaries. Continued delivery of the heritage project (Hats to the Future) funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, creating a new framework of teaching delivering heritage to a younger audience within a school setting. Delivered to 25 students with 3 schools and hit an audience of 250,000 through social media engagement. Ongoing delivery which will result in an evaluation and building upon this for next steps in the summer of 2024.
Little Big Things CIC’s key stakeholders are the beneficiaries, the children, young people and families that we serve in Luton, Bedfordshire and surrounding areas. Other stakeholders include partners. We are committed to consulting with our stakeholders and where required, acting in response to feedback. This feedback will inform our future work/delivery within the sector.
