In 2023/24 the main focus for South East London Tennis remained on developing the Inclusive offer to Lewisham residents through the Lewisham Disability Sports Network. As well as running the annual Disability Sports Festival in partnership with Access Sport and Lewisham Council, we created a link with Watergate SEN school and spoke to the parents about a holiday offer for SEN children. This project will be developed further in 2025. We have continued to develop the mental health session which regularly has 20+ weekly attendees. We are still building back the workforce and now have 12 coaches and 21 leaders assisting the programme.
Over the last 12 months the stakeholders continued to be the London Borough of Lewisham, Glendale Park Services, Lawn Tennis Association, charities called Sporting Recovery and Access Sport who support us with our Inclusive sessions. The partnership with Sporting Recovery and South London and Maudesley NHS Trust continues to support adults who experienced challenges that affected their mental health and offer a weekly tennis session. We continue to work very closely with Lewisham and the LTA and meet regularly with all our partners to discuss our strategy for tennis in the borough of Lewisham. All meetings are recorded and actions points taken.
