COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

CRIDDERS SWIM SCHOOL C.I.C.

Company Number: 11973686 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 May 2024

Company activities and impact

Cridders Swim School year is based around the local school terms closing during half terms and bank holidays. Offering around 1092 sessions per school year with an average of 6 swimmers per class. The charge for lessons is £8.25 per lesson. Compared to local competition from private swim schools of £9.95 and a national one of £9.45 (Source Swim England) value for money is exceptional. We have an average of 2 pool assistants along with the teacher and all drawn from local children either doing an award (DOE or similar) or some just wanting to help. On average we raised around £3600 per term for Corbets after costs. We made an additional donation not related to lesson provision from reserves to help with increased fuel costs We lost a main team member and recruited a retired teacher who I am delighted to inform that Vivien Maxey was awarded England's Swim Teacher of the year The small pool has been out of action and will result in lower income in the next year.

Consultation with stakeholders

We consulted with Corbets Tey Management at the outset of this venture and feed back to them at the time of each donation, which occurs at the end of each period. The relationship between Corbets Tey School and Cridders Swim School is mutually beneficial. There is an ongoing dialogue on the swimming sessions and any issues that may arise. The school is appreciative of the income generated from the donations that come from Cridders Swim School. This enables the school to continue to maintain, improve and run the swimming pool, which is made available for the children and young people attending the school and also children and adults in the community that require specialist swimming facilities.
