THE COMPANY’S MISSION IS TO USE THE UKULELE TO TACKLE LONELINESS AND PROMOTE WELLBEING. DURING THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2023-2024 WE DONATED 187 UKULELES TO LIBRARIES, COMMUNITY GROUPS AND SCHOOLS. WE HAVE FILMED 58 YOUTUBE TUTORIALS AND PLAY-ALONGS AND PROVIDED 149 FREE ONLINE LIVE LESSONS. WE HAVE 8 MORE LIBRARIES IN OUR UKULELE LENDING SCHEME AND PROVIDED FREE LESSONS IN SOUTHPORT AND FORMBY, WORKSOP AND RETFORD, PORTHCAWL, BRIDGEND, MAESTEG, PYLE AND PENCOED, PIMLICO AND WESTMINSTER. WE HAVE TAUGHT 601 BEGINNERS. WE HAVE HOSTED 5 LIVE EVENTS AND 5 MASS BUSKS. OUR LONDON MASS BUSKS RAISED £437 FOR CHARITIES.
PEMBROKE CASTLE UKULELE DAY SAW 120 UKULELE PLAYERS COME TOGETHER FROM AROUND WALES. FEEDBACK FORMS WERE SENT TO ALL PARTICIPANTS AND A COMMITTEE WAS FORMED TO DEVELOP FUTURE COMMUNITY UKULELE DAYS. PARTNERSHIPS WITH AGE UK RICHMOND, BARNET AND WALTHAM FOREST OFFERED LESSONS FOR LOW RATES OR FOR FREE. SURVEYS WERE GIVEN TO PARTICIPANTS AFTER EACH COURSE AND SOME BEFOREHAND TO COMPARE THE IMPACT ON PARTICIPANTS WELLBEING. PARTNERSHIPS WITH FRIMHURST AND OTAKAR KRAUS MUSIC TRUST SAW US SUPPORTING CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH ADDITIONAL NEEDS. SURVEYS WERE SENT TO PARENTS TO IMPROVE OUR SERVICES. OKMT OFFERED MAKATON CLASSES IN RESPONSE TO THE SURVEYS SO TARA COMPLETED LEVELS UP TO 6 TO USE IN HER LESSONS.
