Company activities and impact

The Little Venice Film Festival CIC runs a film festival that is inclusive and accessible for everyone. The company began business in 2023. During the financial year 2023-2024, the Little Venice Film Festival benefited the community in the following ways: - A free film screening for deaf and blind people at one of London's top cinemas. Audio description headsets, sign language and subtitles were provided. A famous deaf Oscar-winning actor attended to support the event and introduce his film. - Free tickets to all of the festival's screenings in Little Venice, Westminster and Notting Hill, including our awards night - ensuring people of all economic backgrounds could gain access to a film festival. - The Little Venice Film Festival 2023 featured Female Experience, LGBTQ+ Experience, Disability Experience, Mental Health Experience, and Global Majority Perspective categories to enhance the diversity of our featured filmmakers and encourage the submission of films that feature stories relevant to these themes. - The festival put on National Student, National Youth and National Kids categories and screenings to encourage young people from six years old upwards to engage with filmmaking. - Three small arts venues in the Little Venice area were hired to put on film screenings. Two of these were registered charities. - Six of our 10 awards went to female filmmakers. Best Film, Best Director, and Best Film by a Female Director were won by the same filmmaker. - Selected films were shown during our awards night, reaching an audience of industry professionals.
