GoldKora CIC is tackling homelessness, poverty, and youth crime in Lambeth, a borough facing serious challenges with inequality and deprivation. Over 12 months, we aim to provide practical support to homeless adults and vulnerable young people, working closely with local councils, outreach teams, and community organisations. Our activities include: 1. Homeless Outreach: Lambeth has over 4,000 homeless individuals, including 3,000 in temporary accommodation (Shelter, 2023). We will work with housing services and outreach teams to engage with people sleeping rough, offering immediate support such as food, clothing, and help accessing housing and welfare. Our goal is to assist 30% of those engaged to move towards stable housing or recovery programmes. 2. Community Food Book: In partnership with food banks and local businesses, we will run bi-weekly food hubs, delivering 1,000 meals to those in need over the year. 3. Youth Empowerment Sessions: We will work with schools and youth organisations to deliver monthly workshops for 150 young people aged 5–15, focusing on Taekwondo, crafts, and life skills. Taekwondo helps build confidence, discipline, and decision-making skills, which can reduce the risk of knife crime and gang involvement.
