Company activities and impact

Musicwonders.org CIC is dedicated tp fostering community wellbeing through the power of music, with special focus on inclusivity, mental health, and social connection. Throughout the financial year, we have provided a wide range of music-based services designed to support individuals of all ages and abilities, particularly focusing on vulnerable groups, including people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities {SEND}, the elderly and those experiencing social isolation. Our key activities include: Singing and Wellbeing Lessons: Offering both 1:1 and group sessions that focus on building confidence, enhancing vocal skills, and promoting well being. Sessions are tailored to be inclusive and supportive, catering to individuals from early years {EYFS} to seniors. Community Choirs: Running a wellbeing choir in Chester - le - Street aimed at improved mental health and reducing social isolation. The choir supports individuals recovering from stroke or brain injury, people living with anxiety or dementia, retirees and those with limited mobility. SEND- Focused Programs: Organising the SoundSteps: SEND Music and Activity Clubs - holiday clubs designed specifically for children and young people with SEND. These clubs offer a safe nurturing environment where participants can engage in creative activities ,develop social skills, and experience the emotional benefits of music. Teacher Training and Music Consultancy: Supporting schools and educators by providing music consultancy services and training, helping teachers confidently deliver high quality music education. Outreach and Therapeutic Services: Delivering mobile music services to groups such as nurseries and care homes, aiming to combat social isolation and promote community engagement through music. Community Impact: Mental Health and Wellbeing: Our programs have impacted significantly to improving participants’ mental health, helping reduce anxiety, boost confidence and promote community engagement through music. Social Inclusion: By creating spaces where individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities can connect, we have strengthened community bonds and reduce feelings of loneliness. Educational Enrichment: Through our school partnerships and teacher training, we have enhanced music education in local schools, encouraging creativity and confidence among young learners. Support for Families of SEND Children: Our SEND holiday clubs provide essential respite for families while ensuring children access meaningful and enriching activities. Musicwonder.org.CIC continues to grow its reach and deepen its community impact, guided by our mission to use music as a tool for wellbeing , connection and lifelong learning

Consultation with stakeholders

Consultation with Stakeholders Stakeholders Participants and Families: - Including members of the wellbeing choir, SEND holiday attendees and their families. Local Schools and Educators: - Teachers and school leaders who utilise Musicwonders.org’s consultancy and training services. Local Authorities and Funding Bodies: -Including councils that support local community wellbeing and education initiatives. Community Groups and Care Facilities: - Nurseries , care homes and other community organisations benefitting from our outreach services. Volunteers and Staff: - Individuals supporting the delivery of our programs. The Wider Community: Residents engaging in community eventsand local music sessions Method of Consultation. Surveys and Feedback Forms: - Regularly distributed to participants, parents and educators to gather feedback on sessions, activities and overall impact. Informal Conversations One to One Feedback: - Direct discussions during and after sessions to gauge immediate responses and suggestions. Parent and Carer Consultations:- Especially for SEND – focused activities, to ensure the programs meet the unique needs of the participants. School and Partners Meetings: - Ongoing dialogue with schools and community partners to align services with educational goals and community needs. Social Media and Online Polls- Gathering informal feedback and encouraging community interaction. Actions Taken Based on Feedback Program Adjustments: - Tailoring session content based on participant interests and needs, such as introducing more sensory activities in SEND clubs. Increased Flexibility in Service Delivery – Offering both on line and in person options for lessons and choir sessions to improve accessibility. Additional Support for Families – Expanding SEND club provisions during holidays due to high demand and parental feedback. Improved Communication: - Enhancing how information is shared with participants and families, ensuring accessibility for those less confident with technology. Wellbeing Focus: - Strengthening the mental health aspect of sessions after recognising its importance to participants and families.
