Secured a grant from the Department of Communities(ULSTER UNIVERSITY) to pay for the CEO salary. This allowed the CEO to gain financial stability which enabled relationship building with several key partners. This has enabled the submission of several grant applications to benefit underserved members of the community. a number of consultations were conducted with various stakeholders resulting in: key partnerships securing a £8,013.5 from ACNI LOTTERY FUND E067 for conducting Youth Programme
Art For Change' an Arts Council Northern Ireland (ACNI) funded programme for 25 youth with our 2 community partner organisations. Art For Change was part of the globally awarded Design For Change (DFC) movement, enabling children and youth to take action on issues affecting them. The DFC movement founded by Kiran Bir Sethi at the Riverside School in India, now present in + 70 countries is a winner of numerous education accolades. Design For Change Northern Ireland was also launched. The youth were supported by multidisciplinary artist, Juanita Rea and the following artists: Singer-songwriter Siobhan Brown; Musicians, Facilitators Paul Kane and Cameron Gibson; Musician, Producer Phil D'Alton; Singer, Facilitator Kelly Smiley; Poet, Writer, Facilitator Nandi Jola; Spoken Word Artist, Frank Rafferty; Performing Artist Mary McGurk and Visual Artists Stephanie Arnold; Halima Aden, and Ayah Aljunaid. Programme ran from July 15th and culminated in a showcase event on 12th August at the Oh Yeah Music Centre where 7 youth groups from our community partners took to the stage to share their stories of change. Deconstructing Malignant Misogyny - original song and visual art addressing misogyny at school in society at large, Caidre Community Choir (CCC) Respect Don't Judge - drama addressing discrimination against Eritrean second language English speakers, Horn of Africa People's Aide NI (HAPANI A Sectarian-free World - group painting on canvas addressing sectarianism, Sudanese Youth Group (SYG Stop Cyber-bullying - original song addressing cyberbullying, NI Gujarati Community (NIGC Let Us Learn - book of paintings and prose addressing Taliban preventing girls to access education, Afghan Community in NI (ALGOCHAK Stop the War - singing a Ukrainian protest song, Beyond Skin Transforming Self-image - multidisciplinary piece addressing social pressure related to body image, identity, Beyond Skin Three projects were shared at the I CAN Summit, Ahmedabad, India, Dec 2 - 3, 2023, which is part of our series of annual global celebrations, bringing together leaders from across the world since 2012. Deconstructing Malignant Misogyny and Stop Cyberbullying were selected to represent Northern Ireland while A Sectarian Free World was selected to represent Sudan. Youth participant, Karma Vyas (Stop Cyberbullying) was nominated to represent Northern Ireland in the Design For Change Global Student Council 2024/25. Discussions with Prof Franziska Schroeder, Performance Without Barriers group regarding partnership with Queen’s University Belfast for funding for programmes, development of digital tools etc. Conducted a number of consultations were conducted with various stakeholders resulting in key partnerships
