  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the rendering of services. Turnover is reduced for estimated customer returns, rebates and other similar allowances. Rendering of services Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs. Turnover is only recognised to the extent of recoverable expenses when the outcome of a contract cannot be estimated reliably.

Company activities and impact

SEE SPORTY BE SPORTY EVENTS INCLUDED THE COMPLETION OF SEVERAL 8-WEEK RUNNING AND MINDSET COURSES FOR WOMEN IN SOUTH YORKSHIRE. TARGET AREAS WERE IDENTIFIED WITH CONSULTATION WITH STAKEHOLDERS AS WELL AS TARGETING OF AREAS OF SIGNIFICANT DEPRIVATION. ALL COURSES RECEIVED VERY POSITIVE FEEDBACK FROM STAKEHOLDERS. RUNNING COURSES BUILT ON PREVIOUS SUCCESS OF ONLINE AND IN PERSON COURSES, AND WERE IMPROVED UPON FOLLOWING PARTICIPANTS FEEDBACK. PARTICIPANT FEEDBACK AGAIN HIGHLIGHTED EMPOWERMENT ASPECTS OF THE COURSE, AS WELL AS PROVISION IN LESS WELL PROVIDED FOR AREAS. A PROJECT WORKING WITH 8 SCHOOLS (6 PRIMARY AND 2 SECONDARY) IN PONTEFRACT WAS COMPLETED THIS YEAR, INVOLVING 40 GIRLS AND CULMINATING IN A CELEBRATION EVENT ATTENDED BY HEADTEACHERS, SCHOOL STAFF AND A ROLE MODEL ATHLETE. FEEDBACK FROM PARTICIPANTS AND SCHOOLS HAS BEEN POSITIVE, WITH AREAS OF EXCELLENCE INCLUDING AUTONOMY GIVEN TO PUPILS TO MAKE PROJECTS THEIR OWN, AND EDUCATION OF GIRLS AND SCHOOL STAFF AROUND COMMON ISSUES IN SCHOOL GENDER SPORT GAP AREAS. PLANS ARE BEING MADE FOR THIS PROJECT TO CONTINUE NEXT YEAR AND BUILD UPON THIS SUCCESS. THROUGH CONSULTATION WITH STAKEHOLDERS INCLUDING OTHER LOCAL COMMUNITY GROUPS AND WOMEN, WOMEN'S WELLBEING WALKS ARE PLANNED FOR NEXT YEAR TO BUILD CONFIDENCE AND LEAD TO POTENTIAL FUTURE CHALLENGE EVENT. THE SEE SPORTY BE SPORTY PODCAST HAS CONTINUED TO BE HOSTED, AND HAS BEEN DOWNLOADED OVER 1400 TIMES.

Consultation with stakeholders

OUR STAKEHOLDERS ARE WOMEN AND GIRLS WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE MORE CONFIDENT ABOUT PHYSICAL ACTIVITY OR SPORT, AS WELL AS TEACHERS AND SENIOR LEADERS IN SCHOOLS. AS IN PREVIOUS YEARS STAKEHOLDERS HAVE BEEN INTERVIEWED INDIVIDUALLY TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON COURSES AND EVENTS. THEY HAVE ALSO BEEN ASKED TO DISCUSS WISHES AND POTENTIAL PROJECTS MOVING FORWARD, WHICH HAS BEEN NOTED AND HAS FED INTO THE CO-CREATION OF FUTURE PROJECTS. PODCAST LISTENERS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE REVIEWS AND LEAVE FEEDBACK. FEEDBACK FROM PARTICIPANTS IN THE RUNNING COURSE, AGAIN AS IN PREVIOUS YEARS, INCLUDED THE VALUE OF THE PERSON SESSIONS, TRAINING PLAN AND ONLINE COMMUNITY GROUP, WHICH WERE ALL VALUED HIGHLY. FEEDBACK FROM SCHOOL STAFF AND TRUST WIDE REPRESENTATIVES HAS INCLUDED THE VALUE OF EDUCATING GIRLS IN SCHOOLS ABOUT THE GENDER SPORT GAP, EMPOWERMENT OF THE GIRLS THEMSELVES TO CHOOSE AN AREA OF FOCUS AND DESIGN THEIR PROJECT, AND THE IMPACT OF INVITING A ROLE MODEL ATHLETE TO THE CELEBRATION, ALL OF WHICH HAVE SEE POSITIVE RESULTS IN PROJECTS THIS YEAR. THIS FEEDBACK WILL BE USED IN PLANNING OF FUTURE SIMULAR PROJECTS.
