The Company has been providing Family Learning session to the local community of Taunton, Somerset. The Company applied for funded activities from a local adult learning provider called, Somerset Skills and Learning, the application was successful, and therefore a series of activities were offered to the community. The activities were specifically focused on an initiative called Multiply, to encourage adults to up-skill in Maths, using skilled tutors. The tutors were the Company Directors (one employed, one voluntary). The Company’s activities focused on families with children in the early years. The activities involved six taster sessions – these sessions involved the adults and children, through a tutor-led singing and maths-based activities and play. Plus, one full course – the course was a series of 4 sessions, which went into details of the early years’ maths curriculum and how the adult can develop their skills, to support their child’s learning. The activities engaged with 65 learners.
