  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover represents all amounts receivable during the year from both educating and entertaining through the science and art of music.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life.

    Other accounting policies

    Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all material timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.

Company activities and impact

The company has been promoting the science and art of music by running bands and ensembles for the people of Christchurch and the surrounding area with the emphasis on youth ensembles and education. They have been working with local schools to rehearse, present concerts and workshops featuring music composed for the occasions.

Consultation with stakeholders

The stakeholders are consulted on a regular and informal basis. This includes conversations with the band members, parents, music teachers, local authorities and other interested parties.
