During our first year, The Crafts Workshop’s main priority was setting up the workshop facility and business planning. We have been at full capacity with 7 artists in residence and using the facilities during the year. In October 2023 we hosted an Open day, where members of the public were invited to visit the workshop. We held blacksmithing demonstrations, and many of our residents were in attendance to speak about their work, this included textile workers and ceramicists. We also had Spyke O'Hanlen attend to promote his new book, and sold our members work. We also sold our members work at local arts and crafts markets. We also collaborated with Arts, Crafts and Laughter and Wellbeing Workshops Devon to deliver a project from May 2024 - September 2024, during this project we worked with people who had PTSD and provided various workshops designed to improve mental health. This included crafting workshops including blacksmithing, painting and journal making, and pschoeducational workshops which provided participants information on maintaining wellbeing
The Crafts Workshop’s stakeholders is it’s membership. We held an AGM with our membership in December 2023, and a second member’s meeting in June 2024. We conducted a full health and safety review of the workshop space with our members in 2024 and within 2 months of the consultation applied a majority of the suggested improvements to the workshop to ensure that it is a safe environment to work in.
Freelance payments for work done, or to reimburse expenses were made to directors. This totaled: £314.84.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
