Basis of preparing the financial statements |
The directors have made an assessment about the company's ability to continue as a going concern and they do not consider there to be any material uncertainties. As a result they have adopted the going concern basis of accounting. |
Turnover |
Turnover represents the invoiced amount receivable from members of the company for service charges and other fees, net of VAT and other sales related taxes. |
Tangible fixed assets |
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost or valuation, net of depreciation and any provision for impairment. Depreciation is provided on all tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, at rates calculated to write off the cost or valuation, less estimated residual value, of each asset over its expected useful life. |
Taxation |
As the trading profits of the company arise from mutual trading they are not taxable. Tax is provided on untaxed interest received or any other income arising from external sources. |
