Basis of preparing the financial statements |
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" of Financial Reporting Standard 102 (FRS 102 1A) "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006. Unless indicated otherwise in the accounting policies below, the financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. |
The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. This basis is considered appropriate by the director, as he has confirmed that he will continue to financially support the company for the foreseeable future and enable the company to meet its liabilities as they fall due. |
Turnover |
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. |
Stocks |
Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for obsolete and slow moving items. |
Taxation |
Current tax is the amount of corporation tax payable in respect of the taxable profit for the year or prior years. Tax is calculated on the basis of tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the period end. |
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date where transactions or events that result in an obligation to pay more tax in the future or a right to pay less tax in the future have occurred at the balance sheet date. Timing differences are differences between the company's taxable profits and its results as stated in the financial statements. |
Deferred tax is measured at the average tax rates that are expected to apply in the periods in which timing differences are expected to reverse, based on tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantially enacted by the balance sheet date. Deferred tax is measured on a non-discounted basis. |
Foreign currencies |
Assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the balance sheet date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate of exchange ruling at the date of transaction. Exchange differences are taken into account in arriving at the operating result. |
Hire purchase and leasing commitments |
Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to profit or loss on a straight line basis over the period of the lease. |
Financial instruments |
Financial instruments are classified as basic or non-basic following the conditions on FRS 102 Section 11. Basic financial instruments are recognised at amortised cost using the effective interest rate method. The company does not have any non-basic financial instruments. |

No deferred tax asset has been recognised in these Accounts in respect of losses carried forward. This is on the basis that there is insufficient evidence as to when the asset will be recoverable, which depends upon the company's future taxable profits. There are tax losses carried forward of circa £150k (2023: £183k). |

The following reproduces the text of the report prepared for the director in respect of the company's annual unaudited financial statements. In accordance with the Companies Act 2006, the company is only required to file a Balance Sheet. Readers are cautioned that the Income Statement and certain other primary statements and the Report of the Director are not required to be filed with the Registrar of Companies. |
In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Act 2006, we have prepared for your approval the financial statements of M.K.H. Trading Ltd for the year ended 30 June 2024 which comprise the Profit and Loss account, Balance Sheet and the related notes from the company's accounting records and from information and explanations you have given us. |
