Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 30 June 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The directors have chosen not to file a copy of the company's profit and loss account.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover comprises the invoiced value of goods and services supplied by the company plus grants received, net of Value Added Tax (where VAT registered) and trade discounts.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, are stated at cost or valuation less depreciation and any provision for impairment. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost or valuation of fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following basis: Plant and Machinery - 3 years Straight Line

Company activities and impact

Triboband CIC delivers percussion workshops and performances to benefit various local communities, in addition to providing support for community events. In the year from July 2023 to June 2024, Triboband CIC has: 1.Delivered 51 workshops, teaching Brazilian percussion (Samba Reggae drumming) to the local and wider community 2.Performed on stage, and delivered percussion workshops at ALSO festival in July 2023 3.Travelled to South London to teach a Samba Reggae group called Pengenistas and encourage collaboration between the 2 groups 4.Paraded at Croydon festival in July 2023 5.Performed on stage and delivered workshops at Latino Live, Walpole Park in August 2023 6.Performed at Thamesmead carnival in August 2023 7.Paraded for the local community at Notting Hill Carnival in August 2023 8.Paraded for the local community at Kingston Hill Carnival in September 2023 9.Performed together with Carlinhos Brown at the Etihad stadium in Manchester in September 2023 as part of a collaboration with Bahia football club 10.Paraded in Paris together with many other bands in September 2023 as part of Lavage de Madaleine 11.In October 2023 we supported the soft launch of a new venue used by the Pengenistas samba reggae band 12.Performed at the Brazilian embassy in London to help showcase Brazilian culture in November 2023 13.Performed at a corporate Christmas party in a Heathrow hotel in November 2023 14.We supported a samba reggae dance class held at the YMCA Tottenham Court Road in November 2023 by playing drums 15.We delivered percussion workshops as part of Jazz festival on South Bank in November 2023 16.Supported the local community at Kensington Temple International Day in December 2023 17.Supported the local community at their service at Notting Hill Methodist church in December 2023 18.Organised and delivered the annual trip to Salvador, Brazil focussed on learning and cultural exchanges in February 2024 19.Hosted a Brazilian teacher called Pato to widen our rhythm knowledge in March 2023 20.For Taru Arts who delivered an event to increase knowledge on Brazil carnival culture, we delivered a talk, and a percussion and dance demonstration in March 2023 21.Attended the Tambor festival in Bristol in April 2024, to meet like-minded musicians and increase knowledge of Brazilian culture and rhythms 22.Supported the Pengenistas & Maypole charity at the London Marathon in April 2024 23.Performed at Hucksters in May 2024 24.Supported the Pengenistas & Maypole charity at the Chiselhurst Half Marathon in May 2024 25.Took part by parading and delivering workshops at the Whitley Bay carnival in May 2023 26.Paraded and performed at the Lambeth Country Show in Brockwell Park in June 2023 27.Paraded at Car Henge in Glastonbury festival in June 2023 as part of the Notting Hill carnival team All of the above have benefitted the individuals/communities who have attended workshops, parades and performances. They have improved their percussion skills, learnt more about the history of samba reggae, met new people and now have enhanced physical and emotional wellbeing.

No remuneration received by Jan Henderson (beyond being reimbursed for approved company expenses). Remuneration for Marcos Santana is detailed in the accounts and totalled £3,500.
