Balance sheet statements

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    1- Depreciation Method: Make It Happen Parents CIC uses the straight-line method to allocate the cost of assets over their useful life. 2- Asset Categories & Useful Life – Different assets have different depreciation rates, e.g.: Office equipment: 3-5 years Fixtures & fittings: 5-10 years Computers: 3 years 3- Residual Value: The estimated value at the end of the asset’s useful life is considered when calculating depreciation. 4- Review & Adjustments: The policy is reviewed annually to ensure it reflects the assets’ actual usage and condition.

Company activities and impact

In the financial year 2023-24, Make It Happen Parents CIC has actively supported parents and carers of children and young people with disabilities by providing advocacy, peer support, and information to help them navigate local services. As the parent carer forum for Westminster, the organisation has worked closely with the local authority and health services to ensure that families’ voices are heard in decision-making processes. Through workshops, consultations, and co-production initiatives, we have helped shape policies and services to better meet the needs of the community. Our activities have empowered parents, improved access to essential resources, and strengthened partnerships between families and service providers, ensuring a more inclusive and supportive environment for children and young people with disabilities.

Consultation with stakeholders

Make It Happen Parents CIC engages in extensive consultations with stakeholders, including parents, carers, the local authority, NHS services, and community organisations. Regular forums, focus groups, and surveys have been conducted to gather feedback from families on key issues affecting children and young people with disabilities. We have worked closely with WCC and NWL ICB to co-produce service improvements, ensuring that parents' lived experiences shape policies and support structures. We regularly participate in strategic meetings, advisory panels, and working groups to advocate for better services, fostering a culture of collaboration between families and decision makers.
