In the financial year 2023-24, Make It Happen Parents CIC has actively supported parents and carers of children and young people with disabilities by providing advocacy, peer support, and information to help them navigate local services. As the parent carer forum for Westminster, the organisation has worked closely with the local authority and health services to ensure that families’ voices are heard in decision-making processes. Through workshops, consultations, and co-production initiatives, we have helped shape policies and services to better meet the needs of the community. Our activities have empowered parents, improved access to essential resources, and strengthened partnerships between families and service providers, ensuring a more inclusive and supportive environment for children and young people with disabilities.
Make It Happen Parents CIC engages in extensive consultations with stakeholders, including parents, carers, the local authority, NHS services, and community organisations. Regular forums, focus groups, and surveys have been conducted to gather feedback from families on key issues affecting children and young people with disabilities. We have worked closely with WCC and NWL ICB to co-produce service improvements, ensuring that parents' lived experiences shape policies and support structures. We regularly participate in strategic meetings, advisory panels, and working groups to advocate for better services, fostering a culture of collaboration between families and decision makers.
