Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 30 June 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Intangible fixed assets amortisation policy

    Tangible assets are included at cost less depreciation and impairment.Depreciation has been provided at the following rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives:Computer equipment 25% on cost

Company activities and impact

The company runs the local Bulgarian supplementary school that emphasis on providing Bulgarian language and literature, Bulgarian history and geography studies and Bulgarian folk dance and singing classes. It has opened in 2014.During the financial year 2023-2024 the school's activities have benefited the community in the following ways: - Provides Bulgarian language and cultural studies to the children of the community in order to provide them knowledge about their country and ancestors. - Provides part-time job for 10 local people. - Gives opportunity to the people of the community to meet each other. - 116 students and their families have benefitted of the studies for this financial year and many more have participated to the feasts we have organised.

Consultation with stakeholders

The stakeholders of the school are all Bulgarians and their families living in Cambridge, Peterborough, and the surrounding areas. The director and the teachers keep a relation with the people of the community. We spend a lot of time talking to the people and trying to find out about their needs. We have done two parents' evenings to find out whether we have managed to meet the students and their parent’s expectations and to share their views with us about the future of the school and how it could benefit them better.

Directors' remuneration

The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £9,096. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
