Unlock Drama CIC continues to provide rehabilitation projects through theatre across the UK prison estate and community. This year Unlock Drama CIC has delivered a large number of projects to benefit participants, prisons and community partners. Unlock Drama CIC has delivered a number of projects funded by Prison Healthcare providers such as Practice Plus Group and Oxleas NHS. Unlock Drama helped support Substance Misuse Teams and participants in recovery at HMPYOI Portland, HMP Guys Marsh, HMP Dovegate by facilitating our or Substance Misuse Project. Unlock Drama CIC was fortunate to receive a HMPPS small grant to deliver our recovery projects through theatre at HMP Ranby. Unlock Drama CIC has helped a number of prisons with their rehabilitation culture by running issue-based theatre projects covering multiple themes such as: Violence Reduction, Mental Health Awareness or Weapon Awareness etc supporting staff and prisoners in HMPPS prisons funded by the Prison Education Dynamic Purchasing System. Unlock Drama CIC put a large focus into expanding our projects into the Community sector. A large proportion of our work focused on supporting participants on probation across 7 Creating Future Opportunities Activity Hubs in the East and West Midlands. As well as working with people on probation we also partnered working with a Secure Children’s Home supporting welfare young people and those with convictions. This is such important work and we hope to continue this preventative enrichment for young people in the Criminal Justice System. Unlock Drama CIC has also been continuing our community partnership with The Nehemiah Project supporting men in recovery in London. Unlock Drama CIC provides placement students from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama to run ADHOC daily sessions as and when requested by The Nehemiah Project. It has been a fantastic year for Unlock Drama CIC with amazing impact.
