During the financial year 2023-24 the CIC ran 7 day long workshops with 90 attendees. We can also ran 5 online 8-week courses for 70 women. The majority of the women attending these events come from Waltham Forest and surrounding boroughs. We have close relationships with local organisations who refer women to our events e.g. Adult Early Help Team, Social Proscribers but also local Muslim community groups and the Mill Centre. The CIC networks with local organisations to ensure that we are responding to the needs of the women in the locality. We collect feedback from the participants and develop programmes to support their needs. In this financial period we offered specific programmes for women who had experienced Domestic Violence, which were highly subscribed. We received grants to offer these sessions from Waltham Forest Council and also the GLA, under their Community Outreach Programme as we continue to offer our programmes for free.
All participants we consider as stakeholders - we get feedback after each event and incorporate their input. Women often attend more than one of our offerings - that way showing their support for what we offer. Other stakeholders are: Various local government agencies - Adult Early help team, social proscribers, WF mental health team, Waltham Forest Adult Learning Service. These organisations refer women to our sessions, they share with us feedback that they receive from these women so we can amend our programmes. Also local community groups - R2R Muslim Commmunity Centre, the Mill Community Centre, Crest (local mental health charity). We hold events in these venues, servicing their local communities, they refer into our services.
