COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

WANDER WILD FOREST SCHOOL CIC

Company Number: 15403759 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 January 2025

Company activities and impact

The company runs Wander Wild Forest School, a forest school that offers pre-school children and their parents a chance to enjoy nature, learn new skills and connect with others from many different cultures and backgrounds in East London. The activities target families living in highly-built up areas that can not easily access an outdoor green space. The forest school ran as a community group from 2023-2024, becoming a community interest company in January 2024. During the financial year 2024 - 2025, the forest school's activities have benefited the community in the following way: local residents (particularly those without access to green spaces) have been able to access a green space more conveniently and been able to enjoy curated activities; 75% of attendees rated satisfaction of activities at 5/5; Parents mentioned skills development as a key takeaway from the activities for their children.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are local residents of and visiting families to East London. Two directors of the company are local residents and others have experience in education and community development. All their insights were used to develop the business model of the forest school. We ask everyone who attends an activity session to fill in a short questionnaire about their experience. This has helped us to build up a profile of their needs and what we can do to meet them more effectively. Our research has enabled us to identify that families building friendships and social connections is a key outcome and so we endeavour to create a space that is safe and relaxing for all who attend.

Directors' remuneration

The aggregate amount of emoluments paid to or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £5,033. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
