Principal activities of the company

Principal activity A Community Interest Company formed through a collaboration between community group Residents of Edmonton Angel Community Together (REACT), Edmonton art organisation Artist Hive Studios and local architects Fisher Cheng. A community first approach to cultural programming and helping to breathe new life into Edmonton High Street. Fore Street Fore All CIC is funded by Greater London Authority Grants

Statement of directors' responsibilities The directors are responsible for preparing the report and accounts in accordance with applicable law and regulations. Company law requires the directors to prepare accounts for each financial year. Under that law, the directors have elected to prepare the accounts in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under company law the directors must not approve the accounts unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company and of the profit or loss of the company for that period. In preparing these accounts, the directors are required to: - select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; - make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; - prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the company will continue in business. The directors are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the company's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and enable them to ensure that the accounts comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. Small company provisions This report has been prepared in accordance with the special provisions relating to small companies within Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006

Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 30 June 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Other accounting policies

    Basis of preparation The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets. Presentation currency The accounts are presented in £ sterling. Government grants Government grants in relation to tangible fixed assets are credited to profit and loss account over the useful lives of the related assets, whereas those in relation to expenditure are credited when the expenditure is charged to profit and loss. Going concern The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. The company has a deficit balance sheet a at 30 June 2024 of £2,349, meaning its net liabilities exceeds its net assets by £2,349. The company meets its day to day Working Capital through receipt of agreed grant from the Greater London Authority (GLA) . The net deficit is due to timing issue. Based on the forecast and projections for the next 12 months and the agreed grant funding from GLA, the directors believe it remains appropriate to prepare accounts on a going concern basis.

Company activities and impact

Fore Street For All is a community interest company based in Upper Edmonton, London, dedicated to fostering community cohesion through cultural programming on the local high street. Our inclusive approach embraces the area’s diverse cultures and engages intergenerational audiences. 2023–2024 Highlights: Hosted 5 cultural events and delivered a heritage project featuring oral stories and photography, resulting in a printed zine and two exhibitions. Published a multilingual community newspaper, distributed to 3,000 households. Maintained a website showcasing our initiatives. Key Events: North London Lates (15.07.2023): A multi-venue festival with creative workshops, live music, circus acts, and more, attracting 3,500 attendees. Faith in Industry (16.09.2023): An event celebrating Upper Edmonton’s industrial heritage, featuring poetry, dance, and historical presentations, attended by 100 people. Angel Yard Makers Market (21.10.2023): Supporting young entrepreneurs with creative workshops, celebrating Black History Month. Christmas Makers Market (09.12.2023): A festive edition with local businesses, workshops, and live performances. Heritage Makers Market (13.03.2024): Celebrating local heritage and craftsmanship through handmade goods, creative activities, and performances. Echoes of Angels: An oral history project capturing residents’ stories, accompanied by smartphone photography workshops and a community zine. Our collaborative efforts with local organisations and creatives continue to make a positive impact on the Upper Edmonton community.

Consultation with stakeholders

Fore Street For All CIC is based in Upper Edmonton, one of the most deprived areas in England, facing challenges like anti-social behavior, crime, high street decline, and environmental issues. Despite this, the community remains resilient and actively seeks positive change through collaboration and engagement. We believe community involvement is essential to revitalizing the high street. Our approach focuses on engaging local stakeholders, including residents and businesses, through: Multilingual newsletters (4 languages) distributed to 3,000 households. E-newsletters to keep event attendees informed. An up-to-date website and active social media presence. Leaflets, posters, and participant surveys. Activating high street venues with cultural events. Direct communication with local businesses. Paid commissions for local artists and creatives. Partnerships with Enfield-based and external organizations. Employment opportunities for local youth, including a Programme Assistant role. Our efforts aim to foster community cohesion and inspire long-term positive change in Upper Edmonton.

Directors' remuneration

The directors of Fore Street For All CIC have charged for their time as consultants. This is shown in the Annual Report and Unaudited Accounts as part of ‘other legal and professional fees.’ Below is the breakdown of each directors’ remuneration: CHENG, Yu Ting = £9,615.00 FISHER, Richard = £11,595.00 MOMODU, Cellina = £7,350.00
