Basis of preparing the financial statements |
Depreciation of tangible assets |
Provision is made for depreciation on all tangible assets, other than freehold land, at rates calculated to write off the cost of each asset over its expected useful life. In the case of freehold buildings, due to the maintenance policy of the company, it is considered that the estimated residual value of the building is equal to the cost, and therefore no depreciation has been charged in the accounts. |
