Year Ending: 31 July 2024

Company activities and impact

A Spectrum connection CIC supports the wellbeing of autistic adults in Morecambe and Lancaster, by providing peer support groups and 1:1 post diagnostic session. In the last year the groups have seen over 300 people (made up of 90 individuals) attend groups, which reduces social isolation and improves people’s mental health. I have also supported 35 individuals with personalised 1:1 post diagnostic support, with most being 6 sessions, but some people needed slightly more. This has increased people’s knowledge of what their diagnosis means for them as individuals, and what sort of reasonable adjustments they may need in the workplace, education or with healthcare providers. I have also attended sessions with the job centre, to see what support I can offer for those seeking work. We have also held ‘ad hoc’ events, such as Christmas get together and autism pride events, where we could get together in structured ways, We also have a film buddies club, which increases friendships and reduces social isolation-building connections. We built connections with the wider community, by volunteering at last year’s Bay light festival.

Consultation with stakeholders

The stakeholders are everyone who attends our groups and events. We also have a private social media page, where members are asked what sort of activities or services they would like. For example, when we needed a new venue for out group, we consulted with members, as it needed to be as accessible as possible. We also ask what people would like at groups, and utilise some of our funding to provide this when possible. Feedback is always requested following post diagnostic support, to enable reflection and improvements. Feedback so far has been positive, with people telling me it’s had a positive impact.

Directors' remuneration

The aggregate amount of emoluments paid to or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £12,480. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed
