The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 30 June 2024

Principal activities of the company

With an aim of provision of arts and creative sessions, projects, activities and events utilising comparative and local folklore and history to build individual and collective resilience and empowerment in Whitby and surrounding areas.

Political and charitable donations

No political donations were made. Charitable donations were made from raising funds from the public at Whitby Krampus Run and The Krampus Ball and other events. The Krampus Ball all ticket sales were donated to Saint Catherine's Hospice Scarborough. The Annual Mordechai Katz Lecture raised funds for Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary. The street collection at the annual Whitby Krampus Run was collected directly by Whitby Disability Action Group.

Company policy on disabled employees

Our policy is one of inclusiveness as evidenced by members of Whitby Krampus Run and attendees of the weekly workshops. We also receive guidance from Whitby Disability Action Group

Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 30 June 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

Company activities and impact

With an aim of provision of arts and creative sessions, projects, activities and events utilising comparative and local folklore and history to build individual and collective resilience and empowerment in Whitby and surrounding areas. Whitby Krampus Run is the annual public event organised by Decadent Drawing. There are also off shoot events with 'Sommerkramp', 'John Barleycorn Must Die' and 'Imbolc' plus other seasonal events We are invited to participate in 'Fish and Ships' organised by North Yorkshire Council and the Made In Whitby events Decadent Drawing also collaborates closely with other not for profit community groups with the same aims of social inclusion and also environmental awareness ( The Men's Shed, Whitby Beach Sweep, Whitby Disability Action Group ). And have close working relationships with the voluntary sector. Decadent Drawing facilitates art sessions and events with the inclusion for all levels of ability and creative backgrounds exploring a given theme. Community workshops are also organised working together to create props, artworks, stories and films for Whitby Krampus Run and our other events. Decadent Drawing have been supported with funding from North Yorkshire Council, The Woodsmith Foundation, Two Ridings Community Fund and Whitby Sea Salt,

Consultation with stakeholders

With support funding from North Yorkshire Council and Whitby Sea Salt we consider them and businesses within Whitby to be stakeholders. The event Whitby Krampus Run likes to work alongside the business community and involve them where possible to help with cross promotional activities and other support. Working with Made In Whitby we also receive post event info which helps us assess visitor impact on the local businesses and hospitality. Voluntary groups and local community organisations provide mutual support as well as they are able to throughout the year with workshops or using the event as a platform for information and promotion as well as local government and agencies who provide funding, support and scrutiny. (The Woodsmith Foundation and Two Ridings Community Funding)
