For the year ending 30 June 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible assets are included at cost less depreciation and impairment. Depreciation has been provided at the following rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives: Plant & machinery 20% SL

    Other accounting policies

    The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have remained unchanged from the previous year, and also have been consistently applied within the same accounts. Basis of preparation The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets. Presentation currency The accounts are presented in £ sterling.

Company activities and impact

During the financial year to June 30th 2024, Cycle Community was in a position to support cycling in Kent, with a particular focus on Ashford: 193 bikes were recycled back into local communities 10 students from Goldwyn School got involved with the project and learnt some cycling and bicycle maintenance skills in the process 4 volunteers supported the project

Consultation with stakeholders

Cycle Community CIC has 4 key stakeholders: Company Directors Kent county Council (creditors) – established a set of clear targets for how the programme will benefit the local community. This is monitored quarterly. Goldwyn School (workshop hosts) – A goodwill relationship has been agreed upon, with Cycle Community CIC providing bicycle maintenance training to the students in return for using the school facilities. The local community who use our services – feedback is requested from every service user
