COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

AMBA CARE SOLUTIONS COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Company Number: 09646618 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 June 2024

Company activities and impact

The Company’s aim is to develop and implement health, wellbeing and housing initiatives to address health inequalities in order to support people to improve their overall health and wellbeing by addressing the challenges they face every day. Amba Care Solutions does this through an asset based approach putting health and wellbeing firmly in the hands of individuals and communities; supporting people to develop and sustain independence, health and wellbeing, particularly those with long term conditions including dementia, heart disease and diabetes. We encourage an interest in social responsibility. Our solutions aim to reduce loneliness and social isolation, increasing the independence of vulnerable people and their care partners. Our focus is on enabling people to recognise their strengths and the opportunities that are available to them. We continue to focus on improving the understanding and uptake of available services to people from the global majority living with dementia, but not exclusively. We work across the West Midlands with some reach nationally. The following projects were delivered during the accounting period ending 30 June 2024. Amba Day Centre , weekly Meaningful Moments dementia friendly social groups on 2 sites, short term respite for carers, online and face to face support groups for carers, Training - health & wellbeing, Dementia Prevention, ageing well, Cultural Competence and Inclusion.

Consultation with stakeholders

The Company’s stakeholders are vulnerable individuals who are at risk of or are already living with existing long term conditions which have a huge impact on their wellbeing and are also at risk of social isolation and loneliness. Professionals, our workers and volunteers working with these individuals are also stakeholders. Our target areas are currently the West Midlands, Birmingham and Solihull, Coventry and Warwickshire. We encourage feedback from our stakeholders through personal stories, anecdotal comments and more formally through evaluation questionnaires. We also use validated tools i.e. the Warwick Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale, Campaign to End Loneliness scale and Amba Care’s Wellness risk scale, at the start, midpoint and end of a project to collect data for comparison to demonstrate improvements to wellbeing. Active communication with our stakeholders enables us to build up a profile of needs and informs the development of services. We firmly believe in co-production to ensure that services that we provide are what people say will help them to improve their wellbeing
