Company activities and impact

Helping Hands Orford, Poplars & Hulme is a volunteer-led organisation committed to supporting vulnerable individuals across the Orford, Poplars, and Hulme areas of Warrington. The charity is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers from across Warrington, including areas such as Croft. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Helping Hands played a vital role in the community by providing essential support through a well-stocked food bank – a service that continues to operate and support local residents today. The charity places a strong emphasis on fostering community spirit, delivering regular events and operating warm hubs that provide a welcoming space for social interaction, connection, and inclusion. To help fund these activities, Helping Hands organises raffles and other small fundraising initiatives, with all proceeds reinvested into the events and services it provides for the local community.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s primary stakeholders are the residents of Orford, Poplars, and Hulme, who are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to delivering services that meet the real needs of the local community and strive to ensure that our work remains relevant, inclusive, and impactful. To support this, we actively seek feedback from residents during our weekly events and through regular interactions at our food hubs. This ongoing dialogue helps us to better understand the challenges faced by local people and allows us to continuously improve and adapt our services to provide meaningful support where it is most needed.

Directors' remuneration

The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £27,372. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
