COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

TENDERFOOT THEATRE C.I.C.

Company Number: 13703649 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2024

Company activities and impact

The company creates theatre productions and workshops to engage communities with sustainability and climate change. We began trading in October 2021. During the financial year 2021-2022, the company’s activities have benefited the community in the following ways: The work we have created and toured has facilitated conversations about a range of environmental issues - including ecoanxiety, gender equality, greenwash, and consumerism. Our shows have been developed to make sustainability accessible to people who may be otherwise too anxious or ill-equipped to feel part of the conversation and have delivered a toolkit for positive action. The workshops we have developed and run have engaged local residents, students, and young people in exploring creative responses to climate change and have helped bolster and develop skills for a changing planet - including resilience, teamwork, empathy, and innovation. Our research and practices have helped the development of more sustainable ways of making art and live performance - allowing us to be part of the futureproofing of the live events industry.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are the creatives and makers involved with the development of each of our projects, the audiences who engage with the finished works, and the participants involved in our workshop delivery. Tenderfoot Theatre has developed a business model that is based on ongoing research into the benefits and methodologies of creative expression on building climate-resilient communities, and engages with our key principles of community engagement and development as detailed in our company manifesto. We consistently gather feedback and reviews from shows, workshops, and other activities through a variety of means including anonymous questionnaires, public reviews, and written reports. This allows us to consistently reflect on our working model and tailor its growth to best benefit the communities we work with - with a particular emphasis on the topics or areas of sustainability that matter the most to our local community. We regularly work in partnership with other local research bodies and organizations to reach audiences that might not otherwise engage with our work - this has proven a fruitful and strengthening endeavor and has allowed us to expand our focus to a wider community and tailor our approaches to suit.
