Annually, members chose where they would like to go and during this period, we had a day trip to Skegness and Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We also attend various community events during spring and summer to raise awareness of DSN generally and the services we offer. We work with our local Council on disability issues and receive financial support from both the Council and Councillors towards the running of events/groups. Our mission is to enable vulnerable people and families to access services and support to live their best lives and reach their full potential.

Consultation with stakeholders

Stakeholders are users of the services, their carers, families, friends, advocates, and other supporters. In addition, funders are stakeholders along with our operational partners All the directors have lived and living experience of people living with an impairment, have a specific interest in people living in vulnerable situations or work in an area related to dealing with those with impairments or are vulnerable. We continue to shape the future of the network with 8 weekly board meetings, plus meeting as and when, have a directors "Whatsapp" group for dealing with immediate issues. We hold regular meetings with users, volunteers and other relevant stakeholders, using social media to keep in touch with users on a day to day basis. We welcome and encourage feedback from all stakeholders on an ongoing basis seeking their ideas for how to improve the groups we run and increase membership; all feedback is discussed by the board, and we always feedback to users. We continue to work with like-minded organisations, constantly learning and adapting to the complex environment of supporting those with physical/mental impairment along with being vulnerable.
