COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

WICK CARE FARM C.I.C.

Company Number: 12035737 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 June 2024

Company activities and impact

Wick Care Farm CIC (WCF) offers a farm-based day opportunity for young people and older adults with long-term mental health conditions including dementia, schizophrenia, anxiety and depression and/or learning disabilities / difficulties. WCF works with local schools to offer a therapeutic programme to 11-16 year olds who struggle within the school environment due to their additional needs, including students with autism. Therapeutic activities include horticulture, animal care, cooking, craft, wildlife conservation pro-jects and DIY. WCF offers peer and professional support and a sense of community to people who often feel isolated from society. WCF has been described by many clients as their community and a place where they feel safe, valued, respected, and useful. WCF strives to be very much part of the wider community by: - offering volunteering opportunities and employment; - selling eggs, plants, jams and chutneys; - providing bespoke group visits for adult groups such as Rotary clubs or younger groups, eg schools; - supporting practice placements for Occupational Therapy students from University of Worcester; - giving talks about WCF to local organisations; - attending local events; - holding annual open events 2 or 3 times per year. The events provide a space for people to meet and talk over tea and cakes and buy plants, produce, cakes and seasonal crafts and to enjoy our environment including our people friendly farm animals.

Consultation with stakeholders

WCF liaises with our stakeholders by: - holding reviews with individual clients to which any relevant professional and/or family members are invited to attend; - providing written reports and other communication for those directly involved with individuals who attend; - team meetings involving staff and volunteers; - staff and volunteer appraisals and reviews; - anonymous, written "satisfaction" surveys with clients and carers/families.
