Company activities and impact

During the financial year the company undertook 7 holiday programs to support children that have complex social and emotional needs. This was progressing on from the pilot project set up last year after obtaining further funding to facilitate these holiday programs. During these holiday programs, we supported 133 children. During term time, we have facilitated a number of sports and mentoring projects in 6 schools across Essex, delivering 10 week programs with young people at risk of permanent exclusion and/or vulnerable to exploitation. Alongside this our referral scheme has seen us support some of the most hard to reach and vulnerable young people in the county. Our projects successfully supported and impacted 83 young people that meet this criteria. Our in-house mentoring for success scheme has been launched in our inaugural school in Witham, working with young people who have disengaged from education and have received numerous short term exclusions. Across the Summer term staff supported 6 young people all with an educational health care plan. Impact has been evidenced to professionals within Essex and is highly regarded by Essex Police, Active Essex, Schools and Essex County Council.

Consultation with stakeholders

The stakeholders during this year Active Essex Foundation, Essex County Council, Braintree District Councils, The schools we work with, Service users, Parents/Carers. The stakeholders have been consulted at the beginning and end of every project by completing surveys of satisfaction and progress.
