The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 30 June 2024

Principal activities of the company

The principal activity of the company is letting and operating of leased real estate. Symmetry Housing CIC delivers homes to vulnerable people across a range of cohorts. Our aims are: 1.To provide excellent quality homes for society's most vulnerable people, at the lowest possible cost point for the residents, Local Authorities, as well as other key stakeholders. 2.To establish an innovative and well-governed model for social housing. Our lease model has been stress tested and derisked by working with various strategic partners. In the financial year to June 2024, Symmetry Housing CIC continued to provide homes across the UK, while also taking a cautious approach when considering new leases due to the various factors causing financial uncertainty. For the coming year, Symmetry continues to take that approach, whilst also building up its pipeline of excellent quality new homes.

Additional information

So far as each person who was a director at the date of approving this report is aware, there is no relevant audit information of which the company’s auditor is unaware. Additionally, the directors individually have taken all the necessary steps that they ought to have taken as directors in order to make themselves aware of all relevant audit information and to establish that the company’s auditor is aware of that information.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is recognised at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable for goods and services provided in the normal course of business, and is shown net of VAT and other sales related taxes. The fair value of consideration takes into account trade discounts, settlement discounts and volume rebates. When cash inflows are deferred and represent a financing arrangement, the fair value of the consideration is the present value of the future receipts. The difference between the fair value of the consideration and the nominal amount received is recognised as interest income.
