RELATED PARTY EXEMPTION |
The company has taken advantage of exemption, under the terms of Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland', not to disclose related party transactions with wholly owned subsidiaries within the group. |
TURNOVER |
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. |

DEFERRED TAX |
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. |
Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference. |
Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. |
HIRE PURCHASE AND LEASING COMMITMENTS |
Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to profit or loss on a straight line basis over the period of the lease. |
PENSION COSTS |
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the company's pension scheme are charged to profit or loss in the period to which they relate. |

10. | PENSION COMMITMENTS |
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. The assets of the pension scheme are held separately from those of the company in an independently administered fund. The pension cost represents contributions payable by the company to the fund and amounted to £23,376 (2023: £21,222). Contributions totalling £670 (2023: £738) were payable to the fund at the year end and are included in creditors. |
11. | RELATED PARTY TRANSACTIONS |
Throughout the year, Mr. Gregory Bedford, Mr. David Bedford, Mrs Carol Brown & Mrs Tracy Wadsworth each had control of 25% of the voting shares in the parent company, and together with their involvement in its day-to-day management, were deemed to be the controlling parties for the purposes of Financial Reporting Standard No. 102. |
Debtors as at 30th June 2024 include the following group company balances, Calder Group (Dewsbury) Limited £164,017 (2023: £164,017), Calder Carpets Limited £14,579 (2023: £14,579), Anchor Carpets Limited £165,454 (2023: £165,454) and Calder Dyeing Limited £134,238 (2023: £158,730). |
Creditors as at 30th June 2024 include the following group company balance owing to Calder Properties Limited £269,604 (2023: £541,263) and Calder Textiles Limited £47,248 (2023: £141,754). |
