INKLUDER CIC

Directors' report period ended 31 March 2024

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 March 2024

Principal activities of the company

The principal activity of Inkluder CIC during the financial year was the planning, production, and delivery of inclusive events, workshops, and outreach programmes aimed at supporting and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community in the London Borough of Barnet. This included organising Barnet Pride, producing community-led arts and cultural events, collaborating with local schools and charities to promote inclusive education, and offering spaces for social connection, creative expression, and public visibility. The company also worked to influence local policy and service delivery through advocacy and stakeholder engagement. All activities were carried out in line with the company’s community interest objectives and focused on reducing isolation, increasing representation, and strengthening the social fabric of Barnet through joy, visibility, and inclusion.

Company policy on disabled employees

Inkluder CIC is committed to equal opportunities and actively supports the inclusion of disabled people in all aspects of our work. We are working toward ensuring our events, employment practices, and volunteer opportunities are accessible, and we make reasonable adjustments wherever needed. As the organisation grows, we are committed to formalising and reviewing our accessibility policies in line with best practice.

Additional information

Inkluder CIC continues to grow its presence as the only dedicated LGBTQ+ organisation in the London Borough of Barnet. Over the past year, we have expanded our programming, developed new community partnerships, and begun laying the foundations for a permanent LGBTQ+ community space in the borough. We are exploring sustainable funding models, including a membership scheme and social enterprise activities, to support long-term impact. We also plan to launch a digital accreditation course for inclusive business practices, aimed at helping organisations create more welcoming environments for LGBTQ+ people. Additionally, we are investing in volunteer development, strengthening our governance, and working with local and national partners to champion intersectional inclusion in all areas of community life.

COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

INKLUDER CIC

Company Number: 13255585 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 March 2024

Company activities and impact

Inkluder CIC continued to serve as the only dedicated LGBTQ+ organisation in the London Borough of Barnet, delivering activities that promoted inclusion, visibility, and wellbeing for LGBTQ+ people and their allies. Over the year, we organised a series of community events, including Barnet Pride, social gatherings, and creative workshops that brought people together in safe and celebratory environments. These events provided vital visibility and connection for queer people living in a borough that has historically lacked LGBTQ+ provision. We also engaged in outreach with local schools, councils, and other community organisations to encourage inclusive practices and promote awareness of gender identity and sexual orientation. Through these partnerships, we ensured that more services in Barnet are being delivered through an LGBTQ+ lens. All of our funding was directly allocated to community benefit, from venue hire and accessibility costs to artist fees, security, materials, and advertising. Volunteers played a crucial role in supporting delivery, and no surplus was distributed for private gain. By continuing to create joyful, visible, and affirming spaces for queer people to gather and be themselves, Inkluder CIC has helped reduce isolation, increased community confidence, and strengthened the borough’s cultural and social fabric.

Consultation with stakeholders

Yes. Inkluder CIC actively engages with a broad range of stakeholders, including members of the local LGBTQ+ community, volunteers, event attendees, partner organisations, schools, and local council representatives. Consultation takes place through a variety of methods, including informal conversations at events, structured feedback forms, online engagement through social media, and direct dialogue with partner organisations and funders. We also meet regularly with volunteers and collaborators to reflect on what’s working and where we can improve. In response to feedback from these consultations, we have made several key adjustments this year: We moved events to more accessible venues following community feedback about physical accessibility and transport links. We introduced clearer marketing and communication about the inclusive nature of our events to ensure everyone feels welcome, especially trans and non-binary individuals. We began developing a formal membership model that will give community members a democratic voice in shaping our future priorities, ensuring long-term accountability. We treat stakeholder consultation not as a one-off exercise, but as a continuous, embedded part of how we operate.

Directors' remuneration

Yes. Directors received payments during the financial year for specific work undertaken in the delivery of the company’s community activities. These payments were not salaries or fixed fees, but project-based compensation for time and labour provided, including event production, facilitation, and administrative support. All remuneration was in line with the CIC’s asset lock and community benefit objectives, and no funds were distributed as profit or dividends. All payments were proportionate, transparent, and fully accounted for in the company’s financial records.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
