We have provided outreach outdoor group and one to one play therapy in Amber Valley and Erewash, supporting children aged 7-16 who have experienced bereavement and loss because of death or a loss of self through mental or physical illness, disability or identifying as LGBTQIA+. We provide professional support using creative and experiential activities such as art, role-playing, storytelling, sand tray work and games to facilitate self-expression and healing, enabling young people to articulate their grief, build emotional resilience, and connect with others, addressing the root causes before reaching crisis points. The organisation has provided contracted part time work for one play therapist. We plan to expand this offer to more schools in Derbyshire, subject to funding. As well as offering training for organisations who work with children experiencing bereavement and loss.
