The Riverside Cafe and Icy Bar CIC has provided placements and employment for a number of young adults with a range of additional needs including neurodiversity and mental health challenges. The profits from the cafe have been donated to the Garden House Marple charity, on whose site the cafe sits, benefitting the charity by providing money to support over 20 supervised placements on the farm for young adults experiencing mental health issues.
Consultation with visitors, groups, and social media followers has taken place by feedback surveys. In total we have spoken with over 70 people to find out what activities people would like to see in the future. As a result, next year we will be running structured group activities and workshops in the cafe space.
