The company runs educational Argentine tango music courses consisting of a monthly rehearsal orchestra, a summer holiday course, some concerts, private events and some private instrumental lessons. The company started in June 2022. The company’s activities have benefited the community in the following ways: - a new music community has been created through local residents and people from outside of London - the company has provided freelance employment for 5 local London professional musicians/music teachers - the company has helped its participants gain confidence and enjoy performing for members of the local charity Latin American House - the holiday course has allowed different London residents to participate and feel part of the tango music community, and in some cases led to their joining the monthly orchestra rehearsals - the orchestra welcomed around 20 different members to participate this year - the members state the project contributes to their well-being and they enjoy being part of this community - the age range of members ranges from 24 - 70
The companies stakeholders are members of the orchestra and the professional musicians who teach. Most of the these members are London based, and all the professional musicians are London-based. All participants receive a survey at the end of each year which helps us to see how the project is working for them, what needs to be changed, plus any ideas they may have which can be included or adapted. We aim for continuous open feedback throughout the year too.
