Haven of Hope provides a holiday for people generally, but not exclusively, over the age of 60, who attend churches in the East Anglia region, although occasionally come from futher afield but have connections with people in this area. The holiday uses the facilities of Sizewell Hall Christian Conference Centre and enjoys the surrounding countryside and seaside. The holiday had 50 guests in 2024 and a team of 13. Our theme this year was “Around the World” and many of the guests dressed up in national costumes of many different countries and had a great time at the afternoon fayre. We again had our posh afternoon tea one afternoon and banquet on another evening. There were various outings available and craft and other fun activities each day. The holiday impacts our guests in many ways; providing company and fun for many who live alone and don’t have any other holiday. It gives them the opportunity to try different things they would otherwise not be able to do and make friendships that span the years.
