Principal activities of the company

The principal activity of Lowestoft Live Community Interest Company is to benefit the community of the Lowestoft area by leveraging the power of music to bring people together through live events, utilising open mic nights, mentorship, and tuition through community outreach. The company aims to subsidise refreshment costs to encourage those in hardship to return to local venues and support the regrowth of a vibrant music scene. Lowestoft Live provides a supportive network for musicians, supports local original music, and aims to grow it from its source in Lowestoft by hosting workshops and producing events that reflect the diversity of the community. Ultimately, the company's objective is to create a sustainable and thriving music scene in Lowestoft with the resources, reach, and support it requires for long-lasting efficacy.

Additional information

Basis of Preparation: These financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with FRS 105 'The Micro-entities Regime', and the Companies Act 2006. The company is a Community Interest Company. Income Recognition: Income from Payment for Services is recognised when the services are provided. Other Income is recognised when the company is entitled to the income and the amount can be reliably measured. Cost of Goods: Cost of Sales includes the direct costs associated with the services provided, specifically materials costs. These costs are recognised when the related revenue is recognised. Expenses: Expenses are recognised in the Income Statement on an accruals basis, as they are incurred.
