In the last year, LGBTQ+ CYPRIOT DIASPORA C.I.C. has organised four free-to-attend social events to connect community members. This has benefitted the community by bringing together over 50 individuals to building friendship, connections and tackling loneliness. The LGBTQ+ CYPRIOT DIASPORA C.I.C. also organised a portrait exhibition of members of the LGBTQ+ Cypriot diaspora community which was displayed at the High Commission of Cyprus in London. This benefited the community by showcasing members of the community in public to enhance our visibility and representation in the wider diaspora community to build greater acceptance in the community of LGBTQ+ individuals. The LGBTQ+ CYPRIOT DIASPORA C.I.C. also provided volunteer opportunities for 3 individuals to build their skills in event organisation and social media management. This has benefitted those individuals by providing them with skills and experience they can then also take into the workplace.
The C.I.C. stakeholders are participants and attendees of our social events, as well as allies and supporters of the LGBTQ+ Cypriot diaspora. The Directors of the C.I.C. are in constant conversation with stakeholders to gage how to adapt and improve the social events and other activities. These conversations happen at the activities themselves. The C.I.C. also has an open online process that encourages ideas and recommendations from our stakeholders. This led to the C.I.C. coordinating and commissioning a photographic portrait exhibition of the community which was displayed at the Cyprus High Commission in London in December 2024 to January 2025.
