Sale Youth Choirs is a series of choirs for school aged children and young people in the Sale and Trafford area. During the period April to August 2023, the organisations activities have benefitted the local community in the following ways: - Musical opportunities for local school aged children led by one of the UK's most experienced choral educators (33 children across our regular rehearsals, 40 at our week long residential summer singing week and a further 420 pupils via partnership with Lime Tree Primary Academy where our Musical Director supports the school in enhancing its musical offerings) - Provided training for aspiring choral leaders and accompanists, including a student placement and choral assistant and accompanist - Provided training for primary school teachers in delivering curriculum music lessons via partnership with Lime Tree Primary Academy - Supported local events and schools to help gain much needed funding, including a collaboration with a number of local schools to perform a summer concert to an audience of 85 in July 23 - Commissioned by Friday Afternoons and supported by funding from Britten Pears Arts, provided a recording opportunity as the culmination of our Summer Singing week which was distributed to schools across the country as a music learning aid and resource - Rehearsals held in the local Methodist Church supporting its running costs
The organisation's stakeholders are the children and parents of the local area seeking an outstanding musical and choral education. The directors have been local residents for a number of years and founded the organisation in response to the lack of local musical opportunities for the age group in the area. When making decisions about new classes and timetables we consult with the parents of our members to ensure that the offering suits their needs and regular schedules. Once we have ascertained whether our classes suit the majority of our stakeholders we then implement those classes.
