  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    turnover policy represents the total income recieved from activities such as community services, training, grants, and hire fees. It is recognised in the amounts when the income is recieveable, provided the amount can be measured reliably and it is probable that the income will be recieved

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    tangible fixed assets are depreciated on a straight line basis over their estimated useful lives. Assets are reviewed annually and depreciation is charged at rates calculated to write off the cost of each asset evenly over its useful life. Equipment is typically depreciated over 3 to 5 years.

Company activities and impact

Nature of Business / Objects Statement The company provides a range of services aimed at supporting individuals in employment, improving career progression, and promoting community wellbeing through education, training, and counselling. These services include: Skills Training and Career Progression Support Provision of skills development and training to employees on low pay, with the objective of increasing wages, working hours, and securing higher-quality, better-paid employment. This includes the delivery of tailored training programmes based on employer needs and a formal training needs analysis. Educational Services Delivery of accredited qualifications and training in core subjects including English, Mathematics, and ESOL (Entry Level to Level 2), alongside employability training and vocational work experience. Advisory and Mentoring Services Provision of one-to-one mentoring, careers advice, guidance, and job interview preparation to support individuals in achieving sustainable employment outcomes. Sports and Recreational Activities Organisation and delivery of structured and recreational sports training sessions, including football and cricket, aimed at improving physical health and wellbeing. Activities are held at designated community facilities such as the Hutton Hall playground. Counselling and Family Support Services Provision of relationship and family counselling services, supporting individuals and families in resolving conflict, improving communication, and addressing issues that may be subject to legal proceedings. The aim is to promote early resolution and improved family outcomes. Workplace-Based and Community-Based Delivery Services are delivered with flexibility either in the workplace or at an appropriate location agreed with stakeholders, using innovative methods to meet the diverse needs of participants and employers.
