Company activities and impact

My Chance to Dance CIC was established to provide inclusive and accessible dance opportunities to people of all ages and backgrounds across Cornwall. Over the past year, we have continued to deliver on our mission through the following key activities: - £2 Weekly Dance Classes: From 2024 we ran £2 weekly dance sessions from Steren School of Ballet, offering a variety of styles including Disco Dance, Street, Dance, Sing and Dance and Toddler Dance. These sessions were designed to be open to all, with no auditions or prior experience required. This year, we engaged over 200 regular participants, aged 1 to 60+, many of whom face financial or social barriers to traditional dance training. - Funded Holiday Dance Camps: During school holidays, we organised fully-funded dance camps for children and young people aged 4-11. These camps provided a safe, structured, and creative environment for movement exploration, choreography, and team-building. We ran 3 camps across the year during Spring Holidays, Summer Holidays and Christmas Holidays reaching 300 participants this year. Places were prioritised for children eligible for free school meals and those referred by local schools and youth workers.
