After consulting with and having conversations with the community over the summer holidays of 2023 it was made apparent that a dance class would be welcomed. We added Hip-Hop for nursery - year 7 children. Classes filled quickly and the Poppers have blossomed. We also listened and increased our class sizes for Theatre so that more children could participate. Due to our accessible style of teaching and understanding of Neuro-diversity our impact on students who are on the waiting list, un-diagnosed and diagnosed has been very positive. We are seen as truly inclusive by our community and word of mouth has secured us in this way. We had our inaugural Cardiff Schools Theatre Festival in March 2024, working with Cardiff Council and Sherman Theatre to create access to participation in the Southern Arc of Cardiff. The theatre festival was facilitated by us working with over 200 pupils, supporting them to access their own creativity, co-creating theatre performances that they then performed on Sheman's Main House stage to their Guardians and the other schools. It was a wonderful process and event where not only children who had never been in a theatre before got to perform but also parents and guardians who hadn't been to the theatre before got to celebrate the autonomy of these children.
Conversations were had during August 2023 at community groups and events at The Beacon Centre as well as after our classes to see what the community would like to see next for BTA (ECSOPA at the time) their feedback lead to us creating a Dance Class and expanding our class sizes due to waiting lists.
