COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

THE WISE+ CIC

Company Number: 15071149 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 August 2024

Company activities and impact

This was our first year of operation. Despite significant health challenges faced by both directors, we began foundational work toward our community aims, including attending key meetings, developing our social enterprise network, and building a vision for long-term community health and advocacy. We attended meetings to represent our community so that we could learn and share our lived experience on behalf of others so that pubklic agencies are more aware of community needs.

Consultation with stakeholders

In our first year, The WISE+ CIC engaged with a wide range of stakeholders including Social Enterprise Kent, Social Enterprise Acumen, and The Old Rectory. We’ve also been active in the East Kent VCSE Alliance, the NIHR Community Research Engagement Network, and our Director sits on the Public Advisory Group for the Kent & Medway Secure Data Environment. We’ve begun building relationships with national organisations such as the Health Data User Group, CADDA, and condition-specific charities including Lyme Disease UK, SEDSConnective, Shine, and Harry’s HAT. We are also expanding our social network via LinkedIn and Facebook, connecting with a wide range of individuals, patient groups, and community advocates. Through meetings, forums, training sessions, and collaborative conversations, we’ve consulted with stakeholders to shape our direction and ensure our work responds to real community needs.
