  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Revenue recognition Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable for goods supplied and services rendered, net of discounts and Value Added Tax. Revenue from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership have transferred to the buyer (usually on despatch of the goods); the amount of revenue can be measured reliably; it is probable that the associated economic benefits will flow to the entity; and the costs incurred or to be incurred in respect of the transactions can be measured reliably.

    Other accounting policies

    Basis of preparation The financial statements have been prepared on the historical cost basis, as modified by the revaluation of certain financial assets and liabilities and investment properties measured at fair value through profit or loss. The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the entity.

Company activities and impact

The company benefits athletes both professional and non-professional, children, individuals with learning disabilities and mental health issues. Activities included running coaching and fitness classes/sessions, delivered by England Athletics qualified coaches. Existing athletes have access to professionally trained running coaches that allow them to excel in their sporting field. Children gain knowledge and experience from coaches who have professional experience and networks in athletics. Members of the community have access to training typically reserved for elite athletes. Fitness sessions benefit a broad section of the community and is affordable so that those from disadvantaged backgrounds can become fit and healthy.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company consulted with various voluntary and funding organisations making them aware of our service. We are pleased to confirm that we have made good progress and established ourselves throughout the voluntary sector.

Directors remuneration in the year amounted to £12,553.
