We continued to provide discounted one-to-one music tuition to students of different ages, backgrounds and abilities, including SEN,offering a different learning experience not readily available elsewhere at an affordable price. We provided access to our Frome studio for local musicians, producers and teachers. We left Trowbridge Town Hall to make way for a major refurbishment there. We began teaching classes at The Pump, a local music venue, in order to continue our offer in Trowbridge. We formed a partnership with local community groups, including Westwood Social Club, to provide spaces and deliver music activities to young people in the Bradford-on-Avon area. We ran the Musical Futures Project in Westwood in 2024, giving young people a free space to make music, and guiding them towards a live event, produced with the young participants, many of whom played their first ever live show. The project was funded by Wiltshire Council. We helped Westwood Social Club to develop their space into a better place for making music, including contribution equipment and expertise, and transforming their live sound setup. We ran parent-and-child music events in the Frome area, giving parents the chance to enjoy a social music experience with their children. We delivered the "Beats and Bars" music project in 2023, offering free access to our music studio and group learning in an informal environment for young people in Trowbridge. We continued to support Trowbridge Town Hall Trust in developing music outreach activities, and supported their funding applications.
We are a small local enterprise, with strong but informal links within the community, and our activiries develop through word of mouth amongst our local stakeholder groups, including: Local musicians in Frome, Trowbridge, Bradford-on-Avon and environs; Local parents; Music educators using our spaces. We make a point of forging direct, individual and friendly relationships with students, parents and others, that ensures continual feedback and alignment of our offer with what people want and need. There are a few specific stakeholder organisations with whom we meet on a regular basis to align on strategies, plans and opportunities, and to get feedback on our services. We became an accredited associate organisation of Wiltshire Music Connect in 2022. One of our directors joined the board of Trowbridge Town Hall Trust in 2022 which strengthened this link. We have meetings with the Trowbridge and Bradford Area Boards of Wiltshire Council. We are also linked to Bradford on Avon Community Area Network (BOACAN) - a local arts and culture facilitator - to Mighty Girls (a local CIC promoting creative activities for girls) - and to Westwood Social Club.
£580 was paid to Christina Casey for professional services as a DJ at Purple Noise contracted events.
