Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 August 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The directors have chosen not to file a copy of the company's profit and loss account.

Company activities and impact

R Theatre is a Community Interest Company working as a professional youth theatre initiative dedicated to promoting interfaith unity, attempting conflict resolution, dispelling misconceptions and promoting social cohesion. We do this through selecting storylines from rich Middle Eastern history in 7th Century CE. We endeavor to bring about culture change in appreciating performing art as a means of expression. During the financial year to which this report relates, the company is still recovering from the impact caused by the pandemic. The company was not able to research, script, produce or direct a new play and there were no performances relating to the financial year to which this report relates. The company lay dormant in its activities and lay dormant financially during this period.

Consultation with stakeholders

Due to the above there were no consultations with stakeholders. Cast and crew did not have a working project to embark on during this year. The company’s stakeholders are primarily the audiences that attend, Muslim and non-Muslim communities that appreciate performing art and culture as a means of expression and the cast and crew who benefit from part time careers in performing arts.
