The main users of my service are people diagnosed/living with chronic illness. These users are struggling with day to day activities and many are unable to work. People with chronic illnesses can become very isolated and lonely which often affects their mental health as they struggle to adjust to a different way of life than they expected. My service runs workshops that take a holistic approach to supporting them while they acknowledge, accept and rebuild their lives. The social aim of this CIC is to improve the lives of people living with a chronic illness, potentially getting them back into the workplace and earning their own money.
There have been monthly committee meetings where we discuss how/if the company is meeting it’s objectives. We have been involved with the NHS on the redesign of the pain pathway in Doncaster, this redesign has been accepted and waiting implementation. The participants of the programs all provide feedback and monitoring data shows vast improvements in all aspects of their lives.
