Fresh Ink Works CIC ran the inaugural Short and Sweet Yorkshire Theatre and Film Festival 2024 as a fantastic starting event for Fresh Ink Works CIC, successfully launching on a shoestring budget, we delivered an exciting three week season that reached and engaged more than 300 community members and audiences alongside a short iflm festival that attracted more than 100 filmmakers. Rooted in our ethos of no barrier to entry, Short and Sweet Yorkshire was created to provide open, inclusive platform of creativity where community of all backgrounds can participate freely. We are proud of fostering a welcoming environment that allowed people to share and grow their creativity without financial or social barriers. Our small team created vital opportunties without external funding, and the communities overwhelming enthusiasm for the event demonstrate the clear need for Yorkshire Community festival for new work, like this. Looking ahead, we are determined to seek further partners to grow this activity with a range of related activity to broaden our community reach and engagement. We have proven with even limited resources community driven creativity can thrive and we look forward ot building on this starting point.
Yes we asked our participants and audience about how they felt the festival worked and here are some responses audience: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1P2N8CcnYhSyLtnaHv6aAwtppL9y09Hai https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1P2N8CcnYhSyLtnaHv6aAwtppL9y09Hai https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1P2N8CcnYhSyLtnaHv6aAwtppL9y09Hai Participants https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1P2N8CcnYhSyLtnaHv6aAwtppL9y09Hai https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1P2N8CcnYhSyLtnaHv6aAwtppL9y09Hai https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1P2N8CcnYhSyLtnaHv6aAwtppL9y09Hai
