During the year, Homes When It Matters CIC continued providing culturally informed, supportive housing for vulnerable individuals, particularly from African, Caribbean, and Dual Heritage backgrounds. Key activities included progress on their 2 Furrow Lane development (16 supported homes in Hackney), ongoing provision of accommodation with wraparound services for people with complex needs, and engagement with local communities to promote awareness and systemic change in tackling homelessness. These efforts supported individuals in moving toward stability, employment, and self-sufficiency.
Homes When It Matters CIC consulted and collaborated with key stakeholders including Hackney Council, local authorities, statutory services, and voluntary/community organizations. These consultations informed the design and delivery of culturally informed supported housing projects like the 2 Furrow Lane development. The organisation’s engagement ensured alignment with local needs, especially for individuals with complex backgrounds from African, Caribbean, and Dual Heritage communities.
