  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. Turnover is reduced for estimated customer returns, rebates and other similar allowances.

    Other accounting policies

    Sale of goods Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods has transferred to the buyer. This is usually at the point that the customer has signed for the delivery of the goods. Rendering of services Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs. Turnover is only

Company activities and impact

The activities of the company during this period have included dance-arts based provision for children and their families/carers through participatory workshops and performances. These workshops and performances – a project for the company titled SPLASH! has allowed the company to sustain and develop existing partnerships with schools, nurseries and community centres as well as develop new relationships with other venues including theatres and galleries in the UK and USA. The project, and so the benefit to the public through participatory dance-arts activity brings a focus on water and the environment. This develops on our relationship with Global Water Dances (USA) and the company have been working with schools and communities in the UK to expand the Global Water Dances education curriculum through the SPLASH! project.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are consulted throughout the research and development of any new artistic activity. Stakeholders include; children in schools and nurseries, SEND schools and community centres, partners at Global Water Dances, IRIE! Dance Theatre, freelance dancers, musicians and visual artists, documentary makers. The company Board of Directors are consulted at the inception of new activity, throughout its development and reported to on completion/evaluation of activities, along with funders.
