Year Ending: 31 July 2024

Company activities and impact

Mischievous Theatre was formed to produce distinctive theatre and to provoke, inspire and courage a greater involvement in the arts by the people of the Isle of Thanet, East Kent and beyond. We do this through creating work that is accessible, stimulating, challenging and inclusive and by creating specific local and community events, productions, educational projects, talks and participatory workshops that enable access to people from all backgrounds, nationalities, religions, ethnicities, races, visible and invisible disabilities, colours, sexual orientations, gender identities and ages to take part. This year has been quiet for Mischievous Theatre CIC though we have created a new strand to the company; producing audio trails. We have called the project Walkie-Talkie Audio. The trails in our own town of Ramsgate benefit residents, visitors and tourists alike. We also once again joined with two other companies and created a Christmas Production which toured into community centres, village halls and a few small arts centres. We worked with the youth theatre and began working with a Thanet poet to create work locally and further afield. A lean yet oddly productive year. We are looking forward to creating more projects and working with more local people and groups in the year to come

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s directors are Clive Richard Holland who is an actor, writer, theatre maker and participatory specialist and Fiona Sue Humphries, who is a project manager and producer by profession. They have active consultations throughout the year with various stakeholders which include various artists, arts professionals and the members of the general public as to direction and content of future projects, events and productions of the organization. The company is in the proess of creating new work with new collaborators and in new areas, as well as continually networking and consulting with many other organisations.
