Year Ending: 31 July 2024

Company activities and impact

For the year 2023/2024 we have been deepening our work with the Black care experienced community in Leicester, offering a wide range of free community poetry events and workshops. Sharing the skills and tools of poetry to bring people together and support social isolation, improve mental health and access to the arts. We have also put on free educational academic events with partner organisations. We have started an oral history research project where we collect the oral histories of Black people with experience of the care system. We are continuing this work and expanding on the community building that we have started, offering more projects to bring people together and help remove stigma for care experienced adults and children and offering more poetry workshops and projects directly in community groups for the future.
