In the space provided below, please insert a general account of the company’s activities in the financial year to which the report relates, including a description of how they have benefited the community. At New Road Preschool we aim to provide a wide variety of stimulating and enjoyable learning experiences in a safe and friendly environment where children and families feel welcomed and involved. We have had visits from members of the community and join in with village activities alongside our thriving Friends of New Road Preschool parent fundraising group. We were able to have our fundraiser in October which was a wonderful event and had a good turn out from our families of the preschool and also from the wider community. We continue to work closely with the local primary school to make sure we have a connection for when children do their transition. We are always out and about in our local community going for walks.
Families attending our setting are our stakeholders, they reside in our village, Over and the wider community of surrounding villages. The directors and members also live in the village of Over and currently work at the setting. The Friends of New Road Preschool group is made up of parents electing to support our setting. Their regular meetings are attended by at least one member of staff to maintain a good level of communication and support between the groups, these meetings are held face to face. All families are encouraged to be involved, give ideas/ express opinions on the setting through annual parent questionnaires, newsletters, development report feedback forms (termly) and the open-door policy from staff to chat at the start or end of each session or via email communication with the Manager or Deputies. The Preschool is using an online system called tapestry for the Development and learning journey for each child at New Road. This gives parents instant access to what their children are doing during the week. We use a private Facebook page which shows the parents what we get up to on a weekly basis, what their children have been enjoying and what they have been learning while playing.
