COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

COMMUNITY SWITCH SPORTS CIC

Company Number: 10906954 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 August 2024

Company activities and impact

Community Switch Sports CIC facilitates 10 inclusive, funded and low cost sport sessions per week for children in West London. These include evening and weekend community sport sessions, and 4 after school clubs, and are delivered to children age 4 upwards. We run these sessions throughout the year, but during the holidays we run holiday programmes instead of these sessions - charging £1 per day for members, and only £5 for non-members. Our activities are designed to be as inclusive and engaging as possible, providing opportunities to learn new skills and sports, make friends, go on trips and feel like valued members of our community. All our coaches are ex-members of ours who used to come to us as children, and we always have teenage ex-members doing work experience with us too, which parents always tell us makes a huge difference and improvements to their children's behaviour and work ethos at school. We receive funding for much of our holiday programmes and some weekly sessions, meaning we can afford to charge a low amount and keep our sessions affordable. We also offer 25% off for siblings and all those on Universal Credit. Our impact means that everyone is welcome, everyone feels part of their community, safe, valued and confident. This is turn helps our children to trust authority figures more, preventing them from getting involved in crime/gangs, prevents truancy from school and helps overall mental and physical wellness.
