Exodus-UK CIC is a second hand clothing store that specialises in vintage clothing and furniture. All funds generated are used to replenish stock, cover business expenses and help the community. In previous years Exodus-UK focused on helping the homeless community. However with the cost of living increasing more people need help, so we now help as many vulnerable people as we can including homeless, elderly and Vulnerable families. How we help; We give food packages to the homeless community along with suitable clothing and footwear from the stock we buy in bulk. We buy the homeless community a meal from their preferred takeout or shop which they prefer and it helps us to cater to all dietary requirements. Provide personal items Such as bras, underwear, socks, thermal clothing and feminine toiletries when needed. Every week we pay for hotels and give the homeless an opportunity to use bathing facilities laundry and cooking facilities if available, along with short term accommodation. This gives us time to get to know who we are helping and how we can help more effectively. We offer a voluntary back to work placement, this is where we train Persons to interact with the community and help them get into a routine, learning how to communicate to customers, keep an organised and tidy work environment and sales. We aim to give them the tools needed to get a job if desired and suitable. We cover cost for transport and food during this time. Deliver essential shopping items to the elderly and vulnerable families. We recently teamed up with Aston university and became a placement provider. Offering students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in the fashion and small business sector. The community has benefited from our services Some of the homeless people we have helped are now are now housed, employed or in educational training. Those who were unable to work were advised on where they can get help with benefits and other relevance services. Those who suffer with mental health issues are or have been treated by relevant health professional teams and have been encouraged to seek treatment If required. We help where we can, encourage and remind everyone that their situation can get better. We are going to open our first HMO this year, to provide housing to the homeless community.
