The company runs East African music and culture workshops and performances for the community to explore and connect. We ran one successful workshop in a primary school in Newcastle upon Tyne where children could listen to East African music with demonstration of several indigenous instruments in an assembly. A smaller group of students were able to explore using instruments such as nyatiti (an eight string lyre), nyangile (a percussive box), peke (percussive hand shaker made of bottle caps)... It increased their crosscultural knowledge and awareness and gave them a sense of achievement to be able to play an instrument they had probably never encountered before. The workshop was documented by a local artist photographer based in Newcastle upon Tyne. For this service we received £250 of which £200 was used to pay the workshop facilitator (director) who sub-countracted the photographer. What was left was used to run the business. We also ran wellbeing music sessions in Sunderland and North Tyneside. Revenue of which was used for the running costs of the business. We invested in an online ad campaign to make the business known.
We had our second board meeting with all 3 directors and one advisory board member on 1 Apr 2025 to review the year 2023-204 and discuss the business strategy. Four out of four voted to manage and submit the accounts in house. This was followed up with an email vote to relocate the business to Newcastle upon Tyne at Cobalt Studios to which all 4 members voted to relocate on the 29th Apr 2025.
The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £100.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
