Second Glance Theatre CIC started in August 2023, with the planning and establishing of its first community theatre project taking place until December 2023. From January until June 2024 the company researched and collaborated with local community groups around Liverpool on a piece around catcalling and sexual harassment. - We held 12 performances in Liverpool City Centre, connecting young people and adults to the city and striking up important conversations. -100% of those who attended said that the performance had an impactful message around today's society. - We connected with 5 different local organisations. -We used our social media platforms to signpost people to local organisations who help women feel safe. - Up to 1000 people were reached per social media post, further connecting vital services to those that need it and can pass the information on to others.
The stakeholders involved with developing the performance in June 2024 gave vital feedback to allow us to finetune the piece in its next stage of development through digital questionnaires. We have used their feedback to shape the experience which we intend to apply for arts funding to take it to more communities. 100% of stakeholders were likely to attend another Second Glance Theatre CIC project. This research has enabled us to see our strengths, "powerful and thought provoking messages" and areas for us to improve "could it be adapted for those who are less mobile". We are in constant feedback with those who helped us to develop this piece to make sure we listen to and take onboard their feedback to maintain these relationships. We will continue to involve stakeholders in the pre and post performance development stages.
