3. Financial Commitments

Accounting Policies 1.1 Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with Financial reporting Standard 102 Section 1A Small Entities, " The Finanical Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and Companies Act 2009 1.2 Turnover Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. Turnover is reduced for estimated customer returns, rebates and other similar allowances. Sale of goods Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods has been transferred to the buyer. This is usually at the point that the customer has signed for the delivery of the goods.

4. Off balance sheet arrangements

BIRMINGHAM SAYS NO would like to confirm: There is a surplus for the year consists of restricted grant funding allocated for ongoing projects. These funds are not freely available but will be fully utilized in the next financial year. Also, No Corporation Tax is due as the surplus represents restricted grant funding used for community-based projects.

Company activities and impact

Birmingham Says No CIC has continued to make a **major impact** on the community through **support, education, and intervention**, particularly for young people and their families. 1. Crime Prevention & Awareness Campaigns - Delivered **27 bleed control workshops**, training **800+ individuals** in life-saving first aid. - Organised **multiple anti-knife crime and gang awareness events**, including workshops with ex-offenders to educate young people on the dangers of criminal involvement. - Held **community outreach sessions** to engage young people most at risk of gang affiliation and violence. 2. Supporting Vulnerable Individuals - Provided **free counselling services** (BSN Counselling) to individuals struggling with **mental health, trauma, gang affiliation, and domestic violence**, reducing strain on NHS services. - Offered **free online mentoring** for young people in need of guidance and support. - Worked with **homeless individuals, asylum seekers, and those battling addiction**, helping them access resources such as housing, food, and employment support. 3. Community Engagement & Events - Delivered **large-scale community events**, such as a **dance competition with Birmingham Hippodrome**, giving young people a **safe and positive space** to express themselves. - Ran **small-scale diversionary activities**, such as archery, woodwork, and bike safety programs, engaging 100+ young people and improving relations with **West Midlands Police**. 4. Direct Support & Emergency Aid - Distributed **20-40 food parcels weekly** to families in poverty. - Provided **essential household items**, including **washing machines, beds, carpets, and clothing**, for families in crisis. - Supported individuals at risk of **homelessness due to gang violence**, advocating for them with **Birmingham Housing Department**. Bridging Communities & Reducing Conflict** - Organised **postcode-blend activities**, bringing together young people from different areas (Northwest & South Birmingham) to **break down rivalries and promote unity**. - Produced **anti-knife crime music and film projects** in collaboration with youth groups from Handsworth and Bartley Green. Financial Year Summary: - **Directly impacted thousands of individuals** across Birmingham. - **Prevented violent incidents** through education, training, and support. - **Created safe spaces** for young people to engage in positive activities. - **Reduced pressure on emergency services** by providing immediate crisis support. Consultation with Stakeholders Birmingham Says No CIC actively engages with **key stakeholders** to ensure its initiatives are **effective, impactful, and community-driven**. Over the past financial year, we have worked closely with various organisations, professionals, and individuals to **shape our approach** and enhance the support we provide. 1. Collaboration with Local Authorities & Emergency Services - **West Midlands Police** – Regular meetings with community policing teams to discuss local gang activity, youth engagement, and strategies for crime prevention. Worked together on **bike safety projects** and gang intervention programs. - **Birmingham City Council** – Engaged with youth services and housing departments to **support families at risk of homelessness** due to gang violence.
