The company continues to run a charity shop in the village, staffed by volunteers, and continues to work with other village charities to run activities in the community space at the rear of the building. We maintain a card machine and can offer cashback to anyone purchasing in our shop. Community activities supported include keep fit, craft classes, men's activity shed, and women's group, along with community festivals and celebrations. Our charitable donations in the year supported three local charities - Millisle & District Community Association, Millisle Regeneration, and Millisle Youth Forum.
We have a village steering group in Millisle with village charities, churches, and community organisations represented. We regularly meet, and activities of all of the organisations represented are discussed, with the Directors paying particular attention to any needs identified. We also continue to listen closely to the opinions of the stakeholders who frequent our charity shop on an ongoing basis.
No remuneration was received
Charitable donations were made to three village charities per the company's constitution - £7204 to Millisle Regeneration, £2300 to Millisle Youth Forum, and £2300 to Millisle & District Community Association.
