Publications on social pedagogy to contribute to the discourse around social pedagogy in the UK & beyond: -International Journal of Social Pedagogy: co-edited as previously, continues to grow, with 16 publications in the reporting period, collaboration with other journals in the field. -Chapter co-authored by Gabriel Eichsteller with Lowis Charfe on ‘Making Sense of Power & Politics in Everyday Practice through the 3 Ps’. This was published in 2024 in the Oxford Handbook of Power, Politics & Social Work edited by R. Baikady, J. Przeperski, SM Sajid, & MR Islam for Oxford University Press.
It is our continuous aim to know and to get a better understanding of what stakeholders and the sector require to further develop and implement social pedagogy in their practices and organisational structures and even in the wider field of the social sector. For this we used different kinds of occasions to explore this out. This was at the Social Pedagogy Development Network events based on an open space format with content decided and facilitated by participants, the Social Pedagogy reading club, webinars, online conferences or by direct contact via video calls or at specially organised meetings to catch up on the latest developments. Furthermore, the feedback from running the activities above has been really valuable and allows us to understand the needs of stakeholders in a rapidly changing environment and broader perspectives from organisations that are unfamiliar to us.
