Company activities and impact

Our organisation is dedicated to empowering Black students across the UK by providing meaningful support, guidance, and opportunities for academic and personal growth. During the 2023–2024 academic year, we made a tangible impact on our community in the following ways: We hosted a targeted event called 'Bridging the Gap', welcoming over 200 students from across the UK - including Lancaster, Newcastle and London. This annual event is designed to help Black and mixed-race students build confidence in preparing for and sitting their A-Level exams, addressing both academic strategies and mental well-being. Several students we supported through this initiative have successfully submitted competitive applications to Russell Group universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. We also received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both students and facilitators, garnering an average of 9.3/10 rating for our event, with one student in particular noting, "I want to thank the speakers for being so supportive, helpful and encouraging." Due to our application process that prioritises those who need help the most, 88% of attendees came from state schools. We were pleased to provide mentorship and peer support to these students as they especially may not have access to private tutoring or established academic networks. 96% of students that attended our event said it led to increased confidence in sitting exams. 97% of attendees said they were likely to recommend our event to family and friends, showing that we were able to effectively create a safe, affirming space where students could speak openly about their challenges, build confidence, and connect with relatable role models and mentors. We continue to grow a network of Black professionals and university students who are passionate about giving back and guiding the next generation.
