Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 30 November 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover represents the value of work carried out in respect of services and goods provided to customers. Income is stated net of value added tax and other sales taxes.

    Other accounting policies

    Taxation Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted. Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. Hire purchase and leasing commitments Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to surplus or deficit on a straight line basis over the period of the lease. Going concern The financial statements have been prepared on the going concern basis, as the director will continue to provide sufficient working capital to ensure that the company is able to meet its financial obligations when they fall due for a period of at least 12 months from the date of approving these financial statements.

Company activities and impact

This year we gave therapeutic yoga classes to the local Tower Hamlets and Haringey/Islington & Hackney Communities in person and also nationally on zoom. We have continued to offer our therapeutic yoga & mindfulness classes online to continue to support the local community and beyond offering classes to support people’s mental & physical wellbeing. This included some more condition-specific classes, offering specialist classes for people with Cancer, Back Issues, Long Covid, Mental Health Issues and Addiction. We received some more funding to extend our offer of free classes to people suffering Long Covid to people living with ME & Chronic Fatigue. The director of the project Claire Whalley, also ran a number of therapeutic yoga retreats for people across the country in both the New Forest and Devon.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders are: 1. Our customers – yoga students and NHS patients who self-refer or have been re-ferred to partake in our therapeutic yoga services. 2. Our employees – during this audited year we employed 1 staff and 1 self em-ployed consultants to help run the company, conduct outreach and administer our classes online on zoom 3. Our volunteers – during this audited year, we had 4 volunteers who help with grant applications, social media and marketing. 4. Board Directors and Advisors. 5. Our suppliers – our yoga teachers and psychotherapists offering specialist clas-ses and student/patient support. We have 10 regular teachers working with us 6. Investors offering grants – during this audited year we received grants from Sports England and Tower Hamlets Small Grants Fund

Directors' remuneration

The director of the programme received 2 PAYE payments, one in March and one in September to cover her part time work on the yoga for life project of administration, creating new programmes, brokering new coproduction partnerships, overseeing the teachers and students and fund raising.
