Governance Programming Overseas (GPO) is a non-governmental organisation based in Sudan (Reg No 0901). Its mission is to raise awareness about governance among the younger generation, including children and youth, across all aspects of life. The aim is to support the protection and promotion of democracy, rule of law, human rights, justice, peace, climate responsibility, and the transition toward a civic state in Sudan. Our organisation engages a diverse think-tank of over 50 experts and professionals from various fields, as well as youth groups with a specific focus on empowering women and children. GPO also acknowledges the vital role of the Sudanese diaspora in strengthening institutional governance during Sudan’s transitional phase. During this accounting period, the company remained dormant and undertook no financial transactions or operational activity.
Yes, although the company has not commenced formal operations, we have maintained informal engagement with our intended stakeholder groups. This includes members of the Sudanese diaspora, civil society actors, youth representatives, and subject matter experts who are expected to play a key role in shaping future governance and programming activities. These early discussions have helped shape the vision and direction of the organisation.
