The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 August 2024

Principal activities of the company

Artbeat Brecon CIC successfully launched the Lifemusic Training Programme with support from Y Gaer, social media outreach, and word of mouth. A total of 12 trainees were recruited for the programme, which commenced on January 31st, 2024 and is ongoing. Weekly three-hour sessions were held at Y Gaer's Creative Learning Centre, fostering an engaging and collaborative environment for participants. To facilitate communication and knowledge-sharing, both a Google Group and a WhatsApp Group were established, enabling trainees to exchange ideas and receive regular updates. In alignment with the Lifemusic philosophy, trainees were recruited from diverse backgrounds, ensuring a broad range of perspectives and experiences. Participants include: -Teachers and teaching assistants -A retired professional musician -An IT professional exploring community work -A youth counsellor -A yoga teacher and community arts worker -A disability support worker -A professional drummer -A music therapist As of the report submission, 11 individuals have signed up for Lifemusic training, reflecting strong engagement and interest in the initiative. A comprehensive case study on the training programme will be submitted separately as part of the Year 2 funding documentation.

Further Project Activity During the reporting period, Artbeat Brecon successfully organized and delivered eight musical events, bringing live music and creative engagement to various community spaces, including: -Two performances at Trenewydd in Brecon -Four performances at Morgannwg Care Home in Brecon -One musical session at the Memory Cafe in Kensington, Brecon -One session at the Hay Day Cafe in Clyro Feedback and evaluations were gathered from residents, activity coordinators, and participating musicians. This invaluable input is currently being utilized in a qualitative study on the impact of musical activities in Brecon-area care homes, conducted by Artbeat Brecon CIC. Additional Project Efforts Beyond direct musical performances, Artbeat Brecon undertook a variety of organizational and outreach activities, including: -Meetings with activity personnel at three care homes -Discussions with the volunteer coordinator at Y Gaer regarding venue options -Coordination with Y Gaer to finalize dates for the Lifemusic training programme, beginning January 31st, 2024 -A three-hour Lifemusic workshop for staff members at Brecon Mind (December 14th, 2023) -Three performances in nursing homes across Brecon in the week leading up to Christmas -Collaboration with Y Gaer to produce marketing materials -Ongoing recruitment of training participants via social media, word of mouth, and direct outreach -Planning for a Christmas Show -Administrative work, including timesheets, journaling, and reporting -Initiation of updates to the Lifemusic training handbook -Follow-up email outreach to activity personnel, requesting case study submissions and scheduling additional musical activities for February -Engagement with PAVO connectors and Health & Wellbeing Information Officer to promote the training programme
