Principal activities of the company

The principal activity of Femina Polskie Centrum CIC is to support the Polish community in Leicester through the provision of services and activities funded by grants. The organisation operates to benefit the community and does not sell services directly.

Additional information

In addition to its principal activities of supporting the Polish community in Leicester through grant-funded initiatives, Femina Polskie Centrum CIC has actively organised a range of events during the year. These included family events fostering community spirit, sports activities promoting well-being for women and children, and educational workshops aimed at community development. The directors believe these activities have significantly contributed to the support and integration of the Polish community in Leicester.

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible Fixed Assets Depreciation Policy 1. Recognition: Tangible fixed assets (toys and sports equipment) are recorded at cost. 2. Depreciation: Depreciation is the systematic allocation of cost over an asset's useful life using the straight-line method. 3. Useful Lives: * Toys: 3 - 5 years * Sports Equipment: 3 - 7 years 4. Calculation: Depreciation is calculated from when the asset is ready for use. A full year's depreciation is charged in the year of acquisition. 5. Review: This policy will be reviewed annually.

    Valuation information and policy

    Valuation Policy 1. Purpose: This policy outlines how Femina values its assets for financial reporting. 2. Scope: This policy applies primarily to tangible fixed assets, specifically toys and sports equipment. 3. Initial Valuation: Tangible fixed assets are initially recorded at their cost. For donated assets, they will be recorded at a reasonable estimate of their fair value at the time of donation. 4. Subsequent Valuation: * Toys and sports equipment will be carried at cost less accumulated depreciation, in accordance with Femina's Depreciation Policy. * No regular revaluation of these assets to fair value will be performed, consistent with the nature of the organisation and the types of assets held. 5. Review: This policy will be reviewed as needed.

4. Financial Commitments

As at [Date of Balance Sheet], the organisation's primary financial commitment relates to potential obligations arising from grant agreements. Our activities during the accounting period from 29 August 2023 to 31 August 2024 have focused on: * Promoting Health and Well-being: We organized and facilitated various fitness classes, exercise groups, and health-related workshops. These activities aim to improve the physical and mental well-being of participants, addressing the needs of women, including new mothers and seniors. * Creating Community and Social Inclusion: A key objective is to reduce social isolation and foster a sense of community. We provide spaces and opportunities for women to connect, share experiences, and build support networks. This includes "Meet and Chat" groups and events that bring people together. * Providing Support Services: Femina Polskie Centrum CIC delivers services that support women's needs, such as mother and toddler groups and activities. * Organizing Community Events: We organize events such as St. Nicholas Day celebrations and sports days, which contribute to community engagement and cultural exchange. These activities provide a clear community benefit by: * Improving the quality of life for local women through health and well-being initiatives. * Strengthening community cohesion by creating opportunities for social interaction and support. * Addressing specific needs within the community, such as support for new mothers.
