The company worked with DPWorld Tour and the European Tour at the Scottish Open Golf event to evaluate the volunteer experience. This enhanced the experience of volunteers for future events. We continue to advocate for listening to volunteer voices at major events. The company worked with Cricket Scotland, Sporting Heritage and Voluntary Sector Studies Network to undertake a scoping study of Scottish Women’s Cricket Research and then a pilot study “catching histories” capturing the stories of the formation of the first sanctioned Scottish International women’s cricket team in 2000. The cricketing community (and wider society) will benefit by increased awareness and understanding of women and sporting achievements. Bayfirth Research CIC shares the research findings and evaluation results (where commercially allowed) with the wider voluntary sector and academic world, thereby enhancing learning across the sector. For example we presented at the Cricket Research Conference in 2023. Bayfirth Research CIC also continued to advocate for volunteers and sports club and the wider voluntary sector while looking for other research and consultancy opportunities.
Our business plan includes consulting widely with stakeholders. For example, we launched the Scottish Women and Girls’ Cricket Research Network in September 2023 which is specifically aimed at listening to stakeholders in the field. This resulted in the Catching Histories Project and further consultation with Cricket Scotland (and eventual partnership on the project).
